Complete attendance at all rehearsals and performance as listed below is mandatory for acceptance into the MBA Honour Bands. Please check your calendar before submitting your audition.

Before using this form, please ensure that you can answer yes to each of these statements:

1. I am able to commit to attending each rehearsal and the performance in full and on time. (Participants whose principal residence is 200km or further from Winnipeg may choose to participate in the Sectional Rehearsal via Zoom. All other rehearsals and concert must be attended in person.)
2. I have entered the following dates into my calendar:
   
   • Sectional Rehearsal: Saturday April 25, 2026, 9:00am - 12:00pm
   • Rehearsal: Thursday April 30, 2026, 4:00pm - 8:30pm
   • Rehearsal: Friday May 1, 2026, 9:00am - 4:00pm
   • Rehearsal: Saturday May 2, 2026, 9:30am - 12:00pm
   • Performance: Saturday May 2, 7:00pm - 9:00pm, arrive between 6:15 - 6:30pm
3. I have read and understand the Revised Audition Rules & Guidelines
4. I will submit my video recording online
5. I will submit my video recording in a .mp4 format (here is a Free Online Video Converter)
6. I will submit my video recording as a single file (ie. one track - here is an app to Join Video Files)

Please also read all instructions before proceeding with submitting your application:

• Video record scales first, then etudes
• Talking or metronome use on the video recording may result in disqualification
• Digitally altering or splicing your recording in a scale, arpeggio, or etude, may result in disqualification
• The audition file should be named and saved as follows: Year_FirstnameLastname_instrument.mp4 (e.g. 2026_JaneSmith_trombone.mp4)
• Please note that we are only accepting video (mp4) auditions.
• For those accepted, the Honour Band fee is $110 (non-refundable). Do not include the fee at this time. Those accepted will be contacted in mid-March.

Honour Band Schedule and Attendance Policy - Honour Band members must attend all Honour Band activities.

Audition Results - Will be shared with more details via email in mid-March. Please ensure the email address you enter below is active, and you can receive email there. Also, please add coordinator@mbband.org to your address book to avoid having our emails go to spam or junk mail.

• Saturday, April 25th, 2026, 9:00am - 12:00pm - Sectional at Desautels Faculty of Music, University of Manitoba (virtual option available for students 220kms outside of Winnipeg) 
• Thursday, April 30, 2026, 4:00pm-8:30pm - Rehearsal at Desautels Faculty of Music, University of Manitoba
• Friday, May 1, 2026 9:00am-4:00pm - Rehearsal at Desautels Faculty of Music, University of Manitoba
• Saturday, May 2, 2026 9:30am-12:00pm - Rehearsal at Judy Silver Commons, Maples Collegiate
• Saturday, May 2, 2026, 6:15-9:00pm - Concert at Judy Silver Commons, Maples Collegiate, 1330 Jefferson Ave. Concert begins at 7:00pm. Doors open at 6:30pm

Please arrive at least 5-10 minutes prior to all sectionals and rehearsals.

Please note that attendance at all scheduled activities is mandatory for participants.

Your application for an MBA event or program is your consent, as a participant (or parent or guardian of a participant) to MBA’s collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information for the purposes and on the basis outlined in MBA's Privacy Policy. By participating, you hereby grant MBA the right and permission in respect of any audio, audiovisual or visual analog or digital recording (of any nature or kind) of any rehearsal, performance or celebration connected with such event or program in which you or you and others are recorded, to use, reuse, publish and republish any such recording contemporaneously at the time of the recording and for a period of 10 years from the date of the recording, for promotional, fundraising, or educational purposes, without restriction as to alteration and without claim by you for compensation, damages, breach of privacy or libel.
