    We’re excited that you’re interested in joining us. This form helps us understand your background, interests, and what kind of support or experience would make the event most valuable for you. No prior knowledge of Effective Altruism is required, and newcomers are warmly encouraged to apply.

    This summit is supported by CEA and Effective Altruism Finland, when you submit this form you are agreeing to share your personal data with us and agreeing to our privacy policy.

    This section contains questions which we use to evaluate your application. You should spend most of your time on these questions, and provide specific, clear details in your responses. You can use bullet points.

     

  • Mentorship

    Mentors can help you navigate the event, explore EA ideas, or connect with people relevant to your interests. Please note that matching depends on mentor availability, and we may not be able to pair everyone. This is optional and involves no long-term commitment.

  • Volunteering

    Volunteers play a crucial role in the success of EA events!

    Volunteers should expect to commit at least four hours during the conference as well as up to two hours over the two weeks leading up to the conference. If you are accepted to the event, you will receive an email with details on volunteering closer to the event.

    Your choice does not in any way affect the outcome of your application. Indicating or declining interest has no effect on application results.

    At this event and related social events, you agree to treat other participants with respect.

    This is a professional learning and networking event. These behaviors don't belong at EA Summit Helsinki or related events:

    • Offensive, disruptive, or discriminatory actions or communication.
    • Unwanted sexual attention or sexual harassment of any kind.
    • Using the event app or scheduled meetings for romantic purposes.
    • Misrepresenting your credentials or professional ties.
    • Recording others without their permission.
    • Excessive promotion of your own services or products.

    We understand that human interaction is complex, but if you’re asked to stop a behavior that’s causing a problem for someone, we expect you to stop immediately. More guidance on what we expect can be found in the attendee guide.

    If you break this code of conduct, or if you make other participants uncomfortable repeatedly, we may take one or more of the following steps:

    • Warn you to stop or change your behavior
    • Remove you from the event without refund
    • Not admit you to our future events
