Thank you for your interest in joining our volunteer program!
We are currently looking for new volunteers to help us with a few roles in the shelter: dog walking/enrichment or to assist in the kitten foster area. If you are interested in helping with either of those roles, we would love for you to join us at one of our upcoming orientations for that specific role, listed below! If you are looking for another role or area in the shelter, please check back as we update our needs regularly.
All new volunteers must be able to commit to volunteering once a week, for a minimum of 12 weeks. If you are unable to meet this commitment due to your current schedule, please check out one of the other programs below.
Looking for a short term/single day opportunity to get involved, please check out our Dog Day Out program or our First Saturday walk groups on our website.

Here's how it works:
1. Make sure you are able to commit to once a week for 12 weeks. Shifts are generally 2-3 hours each week
2. Register for ONLY ONE of the orientation dates below. If you are interested in mulitple roles in the shelter, please select your first choice. We can discuss other roles at orientation.
3. Spaces are limited for each orientation so if there are no spots available, please check back. We host orientations monthly. Please make sure you are able to attend if you sign up or contact us if you are unable to make your scheduled time.
4. You will be contacted with details for your upcoming orientation via email.
Please note:
This volunteer opportunity is for those aged 18 years or more and out of high school. High school students must apply through our youth program.
There is a volunteer fee of $30 you must pay at orientation. This includes a volunteer t-shirt, nametag and helps defray JHS volunteer program expenses.
Court ordered or attorney advised community service CANNOT be completed through this program.
