  • How Serving Works at Living Water Outreach Ministry

Serving at Living Water Outreach Ministry is more than filling a role — it is an opportunity to partner with God in what He is doing through this ministry. Every act of service, whether seen or unseen, helps create space for lives to be changed, hearts to be healed, and souls to encounter Jesus.

We believe serving is an act of worship and a meaningful way to be part of something bigger than ourselves. Our desire is to build a ministry where people serve with joy, unity, and shared purpose, knowing their contribution truly matters.

Serving is voluntary, season-based, and responsibility-driven. We recognize that everyone’s capacity looks different, and we aim to create a structure that supports both the mission of the ministry and the well-being of those who serve.

Rather than permanent team assignments, we use a weekly sign-up model. This allows individuals to serve intentionally, according to availability, while helping the ministry function with order, clarity, and excellence.

    Ministry Events and Services

    Ministry events and services include:

    • Sunday services
    • Midweek services
    • Prayer, healing, or deliverance services
    • Scheduled ministry gatherings (in-person or online)

Two events per month reflects the baseline level of engagement for active volunteers. While seasons and capacity vary, those who are able to serve more often are deeply appreciated, with many choosing to do so as an expression of commitment, generosity, and shared ownership of the ministry.

When you sign up to serve at a ministry event, you are joining others in helping create an atmosphere where people can encounter God. By signing up, you are agreeing to:

    • Arrive on time
    • Serve in the role you selected
    • Serve with humility, care, and excellence
    • Communicate ahead of time if something unexpected arises

    Special Projects

Special projects are occasional, one-time opportunities outside of regular services. These may include:

    • Church setup or maintenance needs
    • Preparation for special events or outreaches
    • Media, technology, or creative assignments

Special projects will always be clearly labeled as “Special Project” and will include a specific task and due date.

While special projects are valuable and appreciated, they do not replace the expectation to serve at ministry events, unless explicitly stated by leadership.

    Signing Up for Roles

    • Volunteer roles are posted weekly with limited availability
    • You may sign up for more than one role if you are able to fulfill all responsibilities
    • Once a role is filled, sign-ups close
    • Please only sign up for roles you are confident you can complete

Signing up for a role helps leadership know who is available so that ministry needs are met and no one carries the weight alone. Every role plays a part in supporting what God is doing.

    Accountability and Stewardship

Because our heart is to serve God with faithfulness and excellence, follow-through matters.

Accountability in this ministry exists so that we can honor God with our service, steward His work with excellence, and care well for one another through faithfulness and shared responsibility.

To help keep serving healthy and sustainable:

    • Volunteers complete a brief check-in form following events they serve
    • Missed commitments are tracked so leadership can understand capacity and plan wisely
    • If a volunteer signs up for a role and is unable to fulfill their responsibility twice within a four (4) week period, they will be paused from active volunteering and removed from the volunteer coordination group
    • If a volunteer does not serve at least two (2) ministry events within a four (4) week period, they will be paused from active volunteering due to inactivity

Re-entry into active volunteering simply requires a brief conversation with leadership to clarify availability and expectations.

    This process exists to:

    • Honor God through excellence and order
      care for volunteers
    • Protect the flow of ministry
    • Ensure responsibilities are shared in a healthy and sustainable way

Serving is never forced. It is an invitation to participate meaningfully in what God is building among us.

  • Serving Commitment Overview
By choosing to serve at Living Water Outreach Ministry, I understand and agree that:

    • I will only sign up for roles I am able to fulfill and will communicate if something unexpected arises

    • Special projects are optional and do not replace regular service unless stated by leadership

  • Ways to Serve in the Ministry

Encourager / Exhorter (16+ with approval)

This is one of the most important roles in the ministry and requires humility and a deep reverence for God.

Exhortation is a biblical and Spirit-given function within the Body of Christ. Romans 12:6–8 identifies exhortation as a distinct grace, focused on strengthening faith through agreement with God’s Word.

The biblical word for exhortation, parakaleō, means to stir up, encourage, urge, come alongside, and strengthen. When an encourager responds verbally in agreement during the preaching of the Word or during prayer, they are coming alongside what God is saying and helping to carry the atmosphere of faith in the room. Scripture teaches that without faith it is impossible to please God.

This role helps set the spiritual tone, models Kingdom culture, and invites both the congregation and online viewers into active agreement with the truth being released.

Because of its influence, this is a highly honored role within the ministry. The encourager is not drawing attention to themselves, but humbly supporting the Word of God so it can be received, established, and activated in the hearts of others. This role requires you to use and speak into a microphone.

    Includes:

    • Responding verbally in agreement (“amen,” “I receive it,” "Hallelujah," "Glory to God," etc.)
    • Encouraging the room in alignment with the teaching and prayer times
    • Supporting the flow and atmosphere of faith without drawing attention to oneself
