    Guidelines

    Purpose

    The Aims of our dear fraternity are Manly Deeds, Scholarship, and Love for All Mankind. This scholarship recognizes and awards outstanding graduating seniors for demonstrating these Aims through their academic achievement, humanitarian service and community involvement.

    Criteria

    Candidates must be male graduating seniors from the Greater Cincinnati Area.

    Applicants must demonstrate outstanding scholarship ability, character, community engagement, and financial need.  Academic achievement and financial need will be the primary considerations for awards.  Applicants must show potential to pursue a college education.

    The applicant must submit a counselor’s recommendation, application, and transcript.  The applicant must exemplify overall school involvement and community engagement.

    Selection

    Selections will be made from the list of recommendations of area counselors.

    Selected students will be awarded certificates and financial scholarships.  Scholarships are intended to aid financial obligations associated with college.

    The number of scholarships and the amount will be recommended by the Scholarship Committee and approved by Delta Gamma Lambda chapter.

    Closing Date

    Applications and supportive materials must be submitted in a timely fashion. All submissions are due on on March 31, 2026.  Counselor and Brother endorsements are due April 6. We recommend that you start the application early, so that your counselor and Brother endorser (if applicable) can begin their process.  You can save and edit the application. Specific closing dates will appear on the application material and will accompany the information distributed/sent to the counselor. 

    Award Disbursement

    Financial awards will be made directly to the student upon presentation of college enrollment documentation.  Awards will be paid in two installments; half at the time of our Scholarship Ceremony and half after successful completion of the first semester of college.

    Our Cincinnati Alphas Scholarship Ceremony will be announced at a later date.
