  • 8. Will an adult leader be accompanying your young people while they are at Cally Rally?*
  • Unaccompanied Explorers

Before deciding whether the young people are going to attend as unaccompanied explorer’s serious consideration should be given to the suitability and maturity of those individuals. They will be expected to look after themselves for the full duration of the camp including travel, pitching tents, cooking, washing dishes, cleaning up after themselves at camp, personnel cleanliness etc. This will require planning and preparation, expectation setting with the young people, parents and other leaders. We do however locate all young people attending unaccompanied within a central sub camp where we assign adult volunteers to oversee it. Parents, young people and leaders all need to be comfortable with the arrangements in place. The permit holder will be Douglas Munro our camp chief.
  • 8a Will the adult leader attending have a Nights Away Permit (Greenfield or Campsite)?*
  • Inverness Pickup/Drop Off Service

To allow us to plan our pickup service from Inverness, it would be helpful if you could please provide details of how you plan to travel to the camp and if possible an estimate time of arrival. This information is for a guide only and we will confirm nearer to the camp with the contact named above. This year we will be charging £5 (subject to change) for return journey to cover our transport costs. We will be in touch closer to the time to confirm travel arrangements and pickup location. *Payment will be taken as a group at that stage
  • As standard our volunteer and participant forms allow each individual to pay for their camp fee during the online application process. However, we recognise that this might not be suitable for some groups and if you wish to discuss this please indicate below:

  • Group Buddy System

Some of our young people attend Cally Rally unaccompanied for the weekend. We are looking for groups coming with a volunteer to act as a buddy group. This is to check in on them occasionally during the weekend and report any concerns to the organising team.
