2026 Courir des Enfants - Children's Mardi Gras

Lundi Gras! Monday, February 16, 2026 from 9:30am - 12:00pm. Meet and check in at 9:30 in front of St. Bernard Catholic Church. The Courir des Enfants is the old Mardi Gras tradition of chasing a chicken or chickens around town and collecting gumbo ingredients from residents. A parent or Guardian must accompany children. The run will conclude with gumbo and music at Teche Center for the Arts at 210 West Bridge Street, Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. $5 Admission

I hereby give approval of my child’s or children's participation in any and all of Teche Center for the Arts (TCA) program activities and do hereby waive, release, absolve, indemnify and agree to hold harmless the organizers, supervisors, participants, and persons involved in the operation of the TCA’s programs from any claim arising out of injury to named child.

I authorize TCA employees, contract employees, and/or volunteers to use simple first aid procedures, such as applying pressure or ice for bleeding or swelling, and cleansing minor wounds with soap and water, and applying first aid ointment and bandage.

In case of emergency, I understand every effort will be made to contact me or emergency contact. In the event that we cannot be reached, I hereby give my permission to the physician to give appropriate treatment.

Emergency Medical Release

In case of emergency, I understand that every effort will be made to contact the parent/guardian of the child. In the event that I cannot be reached, I hereby authorize emergency medical care for my child during attendance at the TCA Courir des Enfants. I give permission for the TCA to obtain emergency medical treatment, including emergency transportation, for my child if I cannot be reached immediately. I understand that I am financially responsible for any expense for medical care or transportation incurred on my child’s behalf. I hereby release the TCA and its employees, contract employees, and volunteers from any responsibilities from injuries incurred during my child’s participation in the TCA camp.

Photo Release

I give my permission for the TCA to use any photos and videos taken of my child during camp for any and all promotional purposes of the TCA.

Is the child or any of the children registered prescribed an inhaler? If yes, please explain any instructions.
