    *HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATING SENIORS (must live and attend school in the following counties: Tarrant, Johnson, Parker, and Portions of Denton County) OR 
    *CURRENT FULL TIME UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT at PVAMU (Tarrant, Johnson, Parker, and Portions of Denton County)

    Eligibility Requirements for High School Senior Students

    1. Applicants must be a graduating high school senior in Tarrant or adjacent counties (see above) for the current academic school year (2025-2026)
    2. Applicants must have at least a GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent
    3. Applicants must enter Prairie View A& M University as a full-time, degree-seeking student for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 academic year
    4. Applicants must demonstrate involvement in school, community service, extracurriculars, and/or other activities
    5. Applicants must provide the following items to Scholarship Committee: 
    • Completed application (this form)
    • Copy of high school transcript (transcript must show cumulative GPA through Fall 2025) and the most recent report card through the first semester
    • Two (2) letters of recommendation: one from a High School Faculty Member (i.e. teacher, academic or athletic coach, administrator, or counselor) AND one from a non-family member of the community
    • Copy of the Acceptance Letter to Prairie View A & M University for the 2026-2027 school year
    • Completed Essay or Video (Prompt provided below)

    Eligibility Requirements for PVAMU College Students

    1. Current Prairie View A&M University student from Tarrant or adjacent counties (see list above).
    2. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 grade scale.
    3. Plan to register as a full-time undergraduate student for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters in a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.
    4. Applicants must demonstrate involvement in school, community service, extra-curricular and/or other activities
    5. Applicant must provide the following items to Scholarship Committee:
    • Completed application (this form)
    • Copy of PVAMU transcript (transcript must show cumulative GPA for Fall 2025)
    • Two (2) letters of recommendation: one from a PVAMU professor AND one from a non-family member of the community or other PVAMU staff 
    • Verification of Enrollment Form completed and signed by the Office of Enrollment
    • Completed Essay or Video (Prompt provided below)

    (NOTE** Recipient must provide proof of enrollment and evidence of full time registration at PVAMU before scholarship funds are disbursed to recipients. APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETE BEFORE SUBMISSION. No incomplete applications will be considered.**)

      Planning for the future can sometimes be a daunting task for some young adults. However, having a sense of direction and purpose can make the important planning stages in life easier. In a short essay (300-500 words) or video (3 minutes max), please describe why you chose to attend Prairie View A&M University and how an education from Prairie View will aid in your preparation for future aspirations, both professionally and personally. Additionally, what contributions do you hope to make or are currently making to the university and community as a result?
