  • Application Requirements and Guidelines

  • Eligibility Requirements

    • Applicants must be registered students (minimum undergraduate 6 units, graduate 3 units).
    • Must provide proof of enrollment (via an unofficial, redacted transcript). Refer to the example below for guidance.
    • Must provide proof of purchase of funds requested (a substantial amount of funds requested must be for textbooks).
    • The proof of purchase (receipts) must be from the current academic semester.
    • Grant payments will be made by ASI Accounting Services following the current financial policies.
    • Applications received after the deadline will NOT be considered.
      Current and past Board Members within one year of the ASI Board of Directors are ineligible.
    • Students may not receive more than one VPF Textbook grant award per academic year.

    Guidelines

    • Students will only be awarded the grant for textbooks, eBooks, rental textbooks, and access codes. School supplies will NOT be eligible.
    • ASI is not responsible for any book(s) lost or stolen.
    • Applications without documentation (proof of enrollment and purchase) will not be considered for the grant.
    • The grant award will be reported to Financial Aid as required by CSU policy.

    Guidelines for Submitting an Unofficial Transcript
  • What Your Unofficial Transcript Must Show
    Please make sure the following information is clearly visible:

    • Your full name
    • Your student ID number
    • The date the transcript was printed
    • Your Spring 2026 class schedule


    What You Must Hide (Redact) 
    Before submitting, make sure to hide or remove:

    • Your Social Security Number (SSN)
    • Your date of birth
    • All semesters before Spring 2026

    Important

    • You only need to submit the first page of your transcript.
    • Check the example below to see a sample Unofficial Transcript with the correct information hidden.

    Guidelines for Submitting Proof of Purchase Documentation (Receipts)
  • Required Information on Your Receipt(s):

    • The vendor/store name
    • The textbook(s) or course materials purchased
    • The total amount paid
    • The method of payment (e.g., Visa, Mastercard, etc.)
    • A clearly visible purchase date 

    Important: 

    • The purchase date must be within the current academic semester (Spring 2026). Receipts must show a purchase date of January 2026 or later.
    • The receipt(s) must clearly show that the total amount was paid. Invoices are not eligible and will not be accepted.
    • Please review the example below for a sample of acceptable receipt(s).

  • As stated in Title 5 Section 42500 (d) of the California Education Code: all...grants-in-aid shallonly be given to currently admitted students. A record of such financial assistance shall be forwarded on a timely basis to the campus financial aid office.

    I acknowledge that any grants I receive must be reported to the financial aid office and may result in adjustments to my current financial aid package.

  • I hereby authorize the Student Affairs Office to release my grades to the ASI Executive Director for the sole purpose of verifying my eligibility.
