    To be eligible for this award, you must:
  • Purpose

    Through the Career Development Scholarship program, the Foundation aims to make FPSA members’ educational dreams a reality and ultimately assist the next generation in launching their careers. These non-renewable funds will be applied to educational expenses at any accredited college or university within the United States of America. Five (5) $10,000 Career Development Scholarships will be awarded in 2026.
    1. You intend to pursue a career in the food and beverage industry. Careers may include food science, food safety, engineering, supply chain management, quality assurance, operations, sales, marketing or other roles supporting the food and beverage sector.

    2. You must be a high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student who meets the following criteria:

      1. You must be a full-time employee, spouse of a full-time employee, or a child of a full-time employee of companies which are members in good standing of the Food Production Solutions Association (FPSA). The employee must have been employed by a member company for at least one year as of January 1 of the year in which the scholarships are awarded and must be employed by a member firm when the scholarships are awarded.

        OR

      2. You must be a part-time employee, spouse of a part-time employee, or a child of a part-time employee of companies which are members in good standing of the Food Production Solutions Association (FPSA) who worked a minimum of 1,000 hours per year in his/her last two years of service. The employee must still be employed by a member company when the scholarships are awarded and must be employed by a member company when the scholarships are awarded.

    3. You must NOT have received a scholarship from FPSA in the year prior.

    4. You must submit a completed application by the deadline. Applications without supporting materials will be ineligible.

    Note: If the employee is an eligible employee at the time you are notified that you have been selected to receive an award you will retain the award for the full academic term.

    Incomplete applications, late submissions, or grades may be a cause for disqualification. There will be a selection jury responsible for reviewing and selecting the individual awardees.

    Provide a full description of all unpaid volunteer activities not required for school credit. Volunteerism is defined as an activity that benefits a cause, group, or organization. For example, participating in a Fun Run to benefit a cause or cleaning your local public park. Do not use acronyms or abbreviations.

  • Work/Internship Experience

    Provide a full description of work or internship you have had. If still working write "current". 

  • Essay

    Pay close attention to both content and word count when writing your essay. It is strongly recommended that you have an advisor or teacher read over your essay before submission. Word Limit: 500.
