Tax Preparation Client Intake Form 2026
  • Tax Preparation Engagement Letter

This letter confirms our understanding of the terms of our engagement and outlines the nature and scope of the tax preparation services we will provide.

    Scope of Services
Based on the information you provide, we will prepare your federal and applicable state income tax returns for the tax year(s) you authorize. Our services are limited to tax return preparation and do not include financial audits, reviews, or assurance services.

If necessary, we may provide limited bookkeeping or accounting assistance solely to support the preparation of your tax return. Any such services are outside the scope of standard tax preparation and will be billed separately.

If required, we may prepare estimated tax vouchers for future periods based on the information available at the time. You agree to notify us promptly of any significant changes to your income, withholding, or financial situation that may affect these estimates.

    Client Responsibilities
You are responsible for providing complete, accurate, and timely information necessary for the preparation of your tax returns. We will rely entirely on the information you furnish and will not audit, verify, or independently confirm its accuracy, although we may request clarification if needed.

You agree to retain all supporting documentation, including receipts, canceled checks, bank statements, and other records substantiating income, deductions, credits, and expenses. These records may be required in the event of an inquiry, examination, or audit by a taxing authority.

You have the final responsibility for the accuracy of your tax returns and agree to carefully review all returns before signing or authorizing submission.

    Professional Standards & Judgment
Our services do not include procedures designed to detect fraud, defalcations, or other irregularities. We will use professional judgment in resolving tax matters where the law is unclear or subject to differing interpretations. Unless you instruct us otherwise, we will apply positions that are supportable and favorable to you under applicable tax law.

    Examinations & Representation
Tax returns may be selected for review or examination by federal or state taxing authorities. Any proposed adjustments are subject to appeal rights.

Upon request, we may assist with audit representation or review of examination findings. These services are not included in tax preparation fees and will be billed separately based on time and expenses incurred.

    Fees & Payment Terms
Fees for tax preparation services are based on the complexity of the return, required forms, and time involved, in accordance with our current fee schedule or standard billing rates. All invoices are due upon presentation.

All fees are non-refundable once a tax return has been prepared and submitted.

    Limitation of Responsibility
By signing this agreement, you acknowledge that we are not responsible for penalties, interest, or consequences resulting from inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information provided by you. You remain fully responsible for all representations made on your tax returns.

    Authorization
By signing below, you authorize Moore Tax Solutions to prepare and submit your tax return(s) and all related forms based on the information you provide.

If you expect us to prepare additional returns (such as amended, gift, or property tax returns), please note this below your signature.

We appreciate the opportunity to work with you and look forward to assisting you with your tax preparation needs.

    • REFUND TYPE
    • Refunds are generally issued by the IRS within approximately 21 calendar days after your return is accepted electronically. However, refunds that include certain credit, such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC), are subject to the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act and may be delayed.

Under the PATH Act, the IRS is required to hold refunds that include these credits until mid-February or later, regardless of when the return is filed. Additional processing time may apply before funds are released.

If you choose a Refund Transfer option, applicable tax preparation or filing fees will be deducted from your refund. Returns requesting direct deposit from the IRS require payment of all fees upfront prior to transmission.

If applicable, refund checks will be available for pickup at our office, and debit cards will be issued through our office.
