    Everything you need to know to prepare for a safe, supportive, and restorative experience.
    • Travel 
    • Who can participate in the Veterans Medical & Wellness Experience?
      Veterans interested in a wellness and restorative experience who are able to travel independently. A companion (plus-one) is welcome, provided the companion is a registered dependent of the veteran.

    • Do I need to arrange my own flight?
      Yes. Participants are responsible for booking their own flights. VCCA will provide guidance and recommendations prior to travel.

    • Will there be support upon arrival?
      Yes. Our team will coordinate airport transfers and provide support upon arrival and throughout the entire tour.

    • How much do I have to pay?
      You will only need to cover your accommodations and flight tickets.

       

    • Accommodations 
    • Where will I be staying?
      Participants will stay at the Meliá Punta Cana Beach Wellness Inclusive – Adults Only, a strategic partner of the program. As part of the tour, participants will receive a special preferred rate at the hotel.

      It is not mandatory to stay at the hotel. You are welcome to arrange your own accommodation, and we will provide round-trip transportation to all scheduled activities.

    • Are rooms shared?
      No. All rooms are private, unless the participant specifically requests shared accommodations.

    • Is the hotel accessible?
      Yes. The hotel accommodates mobility, comfort, and accessibility needs, including reasonable adaptations for older adults or participants with specific requirements.

    • Health 
    • Is clinical support available?
      Yes. The program includes professional clinical support and established care protocols.

    • What if I am currently receiving medical care in the United States?
      You can receive our services here without any inconvenience. This will not affect your treatment with us, and you do not need to bring any medical records.

    • What type of appointments will I receive?
      All appointments will relate to the veteran's service connected conditions.

    • Do I need to disclose medical conditions?
      Yes. This information is necessary to ensure safety and appropriate adaptation of activities.

    • Does this replace ongoing medical treatment?
      No. The Veterans Tour does not replace ongoing medical or psychological treatment.

    • General Logistics 
    • How long is the Veterans Medical & Wellness Experience?

      The Veterans Tour is a 6-day focused wellness experience designed for veterans seeking a restorative program.

    • What does the program include?
      Medical consultations focused on service-connected conditions, group wellness activities, personalized support, and scheduled cultural experiences.

    • Will there be free time?
      Yes. The program is designed to balance structured activities with rest and personal time.

    • Policies for Dependent Care During the Experience 
    • Scope of Dependent Care: The participation of dependents (spouse or authorized family member) in the Veterans Medical & Wellness Experience includes a limited and clearly defined care package, designed to complement the primary veteran’s experience without replacing a comprehensive clinical program.

      Services Included for the Dependent: The dependent will have access to the following services during the experience:

       

      • Initial Primary Care Evaluation - An initial medical assessment aimed at identifying general health needs.

      • Initial Physical Therapy Evaluation - A functional assessment to identify musculoskeletal or mobility-related needs.

      • Initial Psychology Evaluation, which may be conducted under one of the following modalities, based on clinical judgment and availability: Individual therapy, Family therapy, Couples therapy.

      • One (1) Therapeutic Massage at the VCCA Clinic - Focused on relaxation, physical well-being, and tension reduction.

      • Participation in Group Program Activities - Includes wellness activities and scheduled group sessions during the tour.

      Services Not Included: Massage services offered directly by the hotel are not included as part of the clinical or wellness services covered for the dependent. Any additional services outside those specified must be arranged independently and may incur additional costs.

    • All information will be communicated in advance in a clear and transparent manner, prioritizing the comfort, safety, and peace of mind of each veteran.
