Mr. X's Tournament of Trainers Standard Format Tournament – Terms & Conditions
By registering for and participating in the Mr. X's Tournament of Trainers Trading Card Game (TCG) Standard Format Tournament (“Tournament”), you (“Participant”) acknowledge and agree to the following Terms & Conditions:
1. Tournament Status
• This Tournament is unofficial and not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by The Pokémon Company International, Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures Inc., or any related entities.
• Tournament rules and enforcement are administered solely by Mr. X Card Show, LLC(“Organizer”).
2. Entry Fee & Registration
• The Tournament entry fee is $30 USD per participant.
• All entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, except in the event of Tournament cancellation by the Organizer.
• Registration is confirmed only upon full payment.
• Organizer reserves the right to cap total participants.
3. Eligibility
• Participants must bring their own legal Standard Format Pokémon TCG deck, compliant with the current Standard Format rotation as of the Tournament date.
• Proxy cards are not permitted unless explicitly approved by the Organizer.
• Organizer reserves the right to inspect decks at any time.
• Participants must comply with all posted rules and staff instructions.
4. Prizes
• First Place Prize:
• One (1) sealed Pokémon Booster Box, with an approximate retail value of $200 USD.
• Prizes have no cash value and may not be substituted, exchanged, or transferred.
• Prize values are estimates and not guaranteed retail prices.
• Organizer reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if necessary due to availability.
5. Gameplay & Conduct
• Sportsmanlike conduct is required at all times.
• Cheating, collusion, harassment, theft, abuse, or disruptive behavior will result in immediate disqualification without refund.
• Final rulings on gameplay, disputes, penalties, and match outcomes rest solely with the Organizer and tournament staff.
• Organizer reserves the right to remove any participant whose behavior is deemed unsafe, inappropriate, or disruptive.
6. Schedule & Format
• Tournament format, number of rounds, and structure are determined by the Organizer based on attendance and time constraints.
• Matches may be timed.
• Organizer reserves the right to modify the Tournament format or schedule at any time.
7. Assumption of Risk
• Participant understands that participation involves inherent risks, including but not limited to personal injury, loss, or damage to personal property.
• Participant voluntarily assumes all such risks.
8. Liability Waiver
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Participant releases and holds harmless Mr. X Card Show, LLC, its owners, officers, employees, contractors, volunteers, venue partners, and affiliates from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses arising from participation in the Tournament, including but not limited to:
• Personal injury
• Property damage
• Theft or loss of cards or personal belongings
• Disputes between participants
9. Media Release
• Participant grants Organizer the right to photograph, record, and use their name, likeness, voice, and gameplay footage for promotional, marketing, or archival purposes without compensation.
10. Disqualification & Removal
• Organizer reserves the right to disqualify or remove any Participant for rule violations, misconduct, or failure to comply with Organizer instructions.
• Disqualification results in forfeiture of entry fees and prizes.
11. Cancellation or Force Majeure
• Organizer reserves the right to cancel, delay, or modify the Tournament due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to venue issues, technical problems, or acts of God.
• In the event of cancellation by Organizer, entry fees may be refunded at Organizer’s discretion.
12. Governing Law
• This agreement shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of California.
• Any disputes shall be resolved in the appropriate courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
