  • RULES FOR 2025 BATTLE OF PLEASANT HILL RE-ENACTMENT

  • All re-enactors (military and civilian) participating in the Battle of Pleasant Hill Re-enactment events MUST register with event and sign waiver/release form. Participants under the age of 18 MUST have waiver/release signed by parent or guardian.
  • All registrants, companies and units do hereby agree and consent to "galvanize " or to portray either Union or Confederate soldiers or both as needed and determined by the command staff and/or the Battlefield Committee. Each registrant, company and unit does hereby recognize, consent and agree that failure to abide by this condition may result in dismissal from participation in the event.
  • Participants are generally expected to wear period attire and in EVERY case, must wear identifying ribbon or pin provided at sign-up.
  • Re-enactor Registration is $10 person. $5 for non-combatants. Children 12 and under are free.
  • Children under the age of 18 MUST be included on parent's/ guardian's registration and waiver form.
  • Indian or Pakistani muskets will not be allowed under any circumstance.
  • The normal rules for safety will be followed at all times. No one will be allowed on the field under the influence of alcohol. Illegal substances will not be tolerated and will be reported to the proper authorities.
  • All weapons and ammunition will be inspected before each battle. Inspection will also include uniforms and equipment. Only officers and cavalry troopers will be allowed to carry side arms. Please remove all modern wrist watches and eye wear. You must be inspected to participate. At no time will paper cartridges or ramrods be placed in the musket when loading. Cartridges with staples will not be allowed. Due to insurance concerns all combatants must be at least 16 years of age. Children without a specific duty and children as color bearers will not be allowed on the field.

  • All combatants must be registered and a part of a unit on the field. To participate you must be a member of a unit or a unit commander vouches for you. that commander will be responsible for your proficiency in drill and that all safety measures are followed.
  • All battalions will stay together under their own commanders. Unattached companies will be assigned to a battalion. The chain of command will be followed throughout the event.
