CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION / CODE OF CONDUCT
The following conditions of participation are designed not to constrain but rather to positively enhance participants’ experience in HTG activities. They are not simply rules to be followed, but rather guidelines learnt from experience to convey clear expectations to avoid miscommunication and misunderstandings, and ultimately to help produce the best outcome for participants and audiences. Understanding and agreeing to abide by these guidelines is a precondition to involvement in the choir.
MEMBERSHIP AND ACTIVITY FEES
To participate you must be a financial member of the Highlands Theatre Group Inc and be 18 years or older. Members are covered by the HTG Insurance policy. Participants are also required to pay a fee to help cover costs specific to this activity (eg. administration, music, refreshments). Requests may be made to the HTG Committee for exemptions due to financial circumstances.
CHILD SAFETY
Should this activity involve persons under 18 years of age in the future, all participants will then be required to supply a valid NSW Working with Children Check. This is a free service available from https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/apply-for-a-working-with-children-check. All participants are also required to read and comply with the HTG Company Child Protection Policy and Procedures, found at https://htg.org.au/about-us/operational-policies/
RESOURCES
Music resources required for the choir will be supplied. These remain the property of HTG and must be returned if participants cease involvement. A fee may be requested should the resources be lost or not returned.
BEHAVIOUR and ETIQUETTE
Participants are required to behave at all times in a manner appropriate to a family event in both language and action, and to represent HTG in a positive manner. All participants commit to maintaining professional boundaries and practices. This includes showing up on time, making an effort to exude a positive attitude towards the activity, and treating all Company members in an appropriate and respectful manner. Whilst healthy discussion is encouraged, participants are required to respect the roles of the creative team and allow them to perform their duties unimpeded. In the interest of safety, participants must not attend activities intoxicated or under the influence of illicit drugs.
AUDITIONS and CASTING
Whilst all are welcome as members of the Choir, certain activities may require an audition. These will be conducted according to the HTG Audition Policy which is available to all auditionees on the HTG website at www.htg.org.au/about-us/operational-policies/
PROMOTION
Unless otherwise requested, participants give permission for photos, video and audio containing themselves to be used without remuneration or compensation in publications and presentations conducted by HTG. These may be used for advertising material on the HTG Website, social media and print media and remain the property of HTG. To request exemption from promotion email choir@htg.org.au. In the case of children parental consent will be sought separately. Participants must not share any details of the production on social media without the approval of the Producer (HTG).
