Welcome! Please fill out the following form to reserve an appointment for the Community: DIY Scanning Stations, available at the following branch libaries:
Arroyo Seco Regional Branch Library
Sun Valley Branch Library
Make sure you select the desired location before submitting the form.
Reservations are available for 4-hour appointments. We ask that you reserve your time slot at least two days in advance so we can prepare for your reservation. You do not have to stay for the full appointment.
To use the scanner and its accessories, please read through the policies carefully. You will be asked to sign a user agreement before your first appointment. CommUnity Equipment Policies and User Agreement Form are linked below for your convenience. Please bring a signed copy of the User Agreement Form with you to your first appointment or ask for a printed copy to sign.
Patrons must have a library card in good standing to use CommUnity equipment--verify your accunt status in MyAccount. Reservations on delinquient accounts may be postponed or cancelled.
Equipment:
- Epson Expression 13000XL archival scanner with Transparency Unit
- Transparency Guide + holders (35mm slides, Medium Format Film, 35mm film, 4x5 negatives)
- Cleaning accessories
- Nitrile latex-free gloves
- USB multi-functional adapter
Note: If you are scanning negatives or slides, we recommend reserving a two-hour session. Higher resolution images take longer to scan and transfer.

Don't forget! Bring an external hard drive to save your scans. The Library is not responsible for any lost files. Anything saved to the designated laptop will be deleted automatically when it is re-booted after your session.
