  • Internship and Job Shadowing Request

  •  -

  • Thank you for your interest in internships and/or job shadowing at The Boston Ability Center! PLEASE READ ALL IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOUND BELOW about these opportunities at the BAC.

PLEASE NOTE: We are currently accepting inquiries for June-August of 2026. If you wish to be on our contact list for Fall of 2026, please do NOT fill out this form. Instead, please email mackenzie.rickert@bostonabilitycenter.com and I will be in touch as soon as applications for that timeframe open.

    INTERNSHIPS:

    • ALL INTERNSHIPS FOR SUMMER OF 2026 WILL BE AT OUR NATICK OFFICE.
    • Internships at the Boston Ability Center are unpaid at this time.
    • In order to be eligible for an internship, students must be able to affiliate the internship with a school (i.e. completing an internship for academic credit, completing it as part of a course project, and/or completing it as part of a school-approved independent study). As a for-profit company, BAC is unable to provide internships that are not affiliated with a school program.
    • During their time at the BAC, interns may complete tasks such as, but not limited to:
      • Joining for/assisting during treatment sessions
      • Observing
      • Cleaning and organizing
      • Setting up/transitioning treatment spaces between patients
      • Activity and material prep
      • Administrative tasks
      • Summer camp support (see below)
    • Our centers are open Monday-Thursday from 7am-6:30pm, Fridays from 7am-5:30pm, and Saturdays from 8-2:30pm.
    • A member of our team will review your request and be in touch if we have availability that meets your needs. If so, next steps would involve scheduling a time for an interview and contacting your references to ensure that an intership at the BAC is the right fit.
    • IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR SUMMER 2026 INTERNSHIPS: This summer, the BAC will be running two, 1-week, adaptive/all-abilities summer camps. Therefore, the majority of our internship opportunities this summer will surround these camps. Camp will be lead by BAC's OTs, PTs, and SLPs with interns providing assistance to clinicians and providing 1:1 assistance to campers as needed. Additional resposibilities and opportunities will be assigned depending on schedule and clinic needs. The majority of summer internship opportunities will be 60 hours with a schedule as follows:
      • Week of 7/27: Training/orientation on Monday, with remaining hours (20 total for the week) spread across days with some flexixibility in exact schedule
      • Week of 8/3: Mon-Fri, 8:30am-12:30pm (20 hours)
      • Week of 8/10: Mon-Fri, 8:30am-12:30pm (20 hours)

    JOB SHADOWING:

    • ALL JOB SHADOWING OPPORTUNITIES FOR SUMMER OF 2026 WILL BE AT OUR NATICK OFFICE.
    • Job shadowing is typically offered to interested individuals for approximately 3 periods of time (ex: Mondays from 2:30-6:30 for 3 weeks). Our centers are open Monday-Thursday from 7am-6:30pm, Fridays from 7am-5:30pm, and Saturdays from 8-2:30pm. Shadowing is typically easiest to complete during our busy afternoon hours!
    • Job shadowing does not need to be affiliated with a school
    • Job shadowing consists primarily of observation, with some active invovlement in sessions at the treating clinician's discretion
    • PLEASE NOTE: While we are opening requests now, we likely will not be able to start getting back to people about shadowing opportunities until the end of the spring. Our patient and clinician schedules change frequently, and it is important that we have summer schedules settled before scheduling shadowers. Therefore, please feel free to complete this form, but know that you might not hear back from us until later in the spring of 2026. Thank you for your patience!
