HRD FSA Prep Workshop
(Human Remains Detection – Based on FEMA FSA Foundation Skill Assesment Test Critieria, Beginner Entry Level)

Location: Search and Rescue Assist, Linticum-Belle Grove
Workshop Overview
This workshop is for any K9 handler, beginner or experienced, who wants to build FEMA FSA–level foundational skills with their canine.
You do not need to be affiliated with a FEMA team to participate! Open to all handlers, Wilderness, SUSAR, Independent, etc.
Handlers and dogs will work through core FEMA FSA foundations, including: Sociability -Obedience, Agility, Directionals, Bark alert, Rubble search concepts
Three FEMA coaches will facilitate the workshop. Teams will be divided into groups, rotating through stations to ensure maximum working time for the dogs.
Working & Audit Spots
Working K9 teams: 12 maximum (one dog per handler)
Audit spots: Unlimited
Cost
Working handler (one dog): $100 (one day)
Audit spot: $50 per day
Lunch is included
100% of net proceeds benefit SARA
Safety & Gear Requirements
This workshop runs rain or shine. Please plan accordingly.
Required personal protective equipment while working on rubble/debris: Helmet, Eye protection, and knee pads.
All dogs are required to have proof of current rabies vaccination available if requested.
