Founded in 2023, the Sspringfield Pearls Foundaiton, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charity that supports education, the arts and other community building activities in Springfield/Lorton, Virginia. Our mission is to provide resources for charitable, civic and direct service programs. These include scholarships, educational assistance and partnerships with other agencies to magnify community impact.
Purpose: To identify high school seniors who possess a strong desire for academic excellence, leadership positions in student organizations, and plan on attending college in the Fall of 2026, as a full-time student.
Reward: (5) Five individuals will be selected from the pool of qualified applicants will be awarded a scholarship for financial assistance during their 2026-27 college academic year of $3,000.00/each.
Qualifications: Interested candidates must meet the following criteria to qualify for this award:
- High School Seniors who live in the Springfield/Lorton area OR high school seniors who attend John Lewis High School, West Springfield High School, or South County High School graduating in June 2026 that has applied and been admitted to a college or university.
- GPA of at least 2.50 on a 4.00 scale;
- At least one of the 5 scholars will attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU)
- Complete a narrative of no more than 500 words, discussing the following:
How will you use your education to make a positive impact in the community?
