🏀 U8 & U10 Club Newsletter – Term 1 & Winter Season Updates
Welcome to an exciting year of basketball in 2026! Below are important updates for all Under 8 and Under 10 families as we prepare for Term 1 and look ahead to the winter season in term 2 & 3.
Training for tournament season starts Wednesday 28th January due to Monday being Australia Day public holiday. There are no training on public holidays due to coaches availability unless advised otherwise. If you have selected a class on a public holiday, please attend a different day on the same week for make up class.Â
đź“ŤÂ Term 1 Training at Nissan Arena - ACTION NEEDED
All U8 and U10 training sessions for Term 1 will be held at Nissan Arena Cnr Mains Road and Kessels Road
- Families will need to nominate a preferred training day and time, as there are 2 times on a Monday and the courts are not side by side so we need to be mindful of numbers
- The courts are normal courts with the hoops only at each end (not side-by-side), We are looking at finalising training groups before the season begins.
 Training Schedule – (as per our schedule on the web site)
Monday
- 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm 🏀 Court 5
- 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm 🏀 Court 5
Wednesday
- 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm 🏀 Court 5 & 3
Friday
- 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Court 5 & 3

Court Exit Requirement
As part of our agreement with Nissan Arena, all players must clear the court one minute before our finish time.
In previous terms, children often stayed on the court to play after training, but this will not be permitted in Term 1.
 👕 Winter Season (Terms 2 & 3):
New Playing Singlets beginning in the winter season, all Under 8 players will be required to purchase their own playing singlet.
These singlets can be used for both U8 in 2026 onwards and in U10 in 2027 onwards
Last year, U8 players were allowed to take their singlets home and unfortunately many were returned with stains that could not be removed. This resulted in significant replacement costs, so singlets will now need to be purchased and kept by the families.
Singlet Details
Cost: $40 (includes your child’s name) – we have subsided the cost. Singlets are reversable so can be played as Blue or White so these are really 2 Singlets and the name will be on both sides
Production time:Â Approximately 6 weeks
Order minimum: Singlets must be ordered in lots of 10
