Vendor Guidelines & Agreement
The LaSalle County Historical Society (LCHS) sets qualifications and restrictions on vendors to promote homemade crafts, highlight quality antiques and collectibles, and ensure that all material is appropriate for visitors and the local community.
• Rented spaces are exclusively for the business owner’s use. Subleasing your space to others is not allowed unless you obtain written approval from the Burgoo Festival Committee at LCHS.
• Returning vendors, LaSalle County residents, and those offering authentic “Old Time” handmade items receive preference.
• Vendors may only sell baked goods and home-grown food items in their booths. Water and soft drinks can only be sold by designated Food Vendors. If selling food, vendors must display a valid LaSalle County Health Dept (815.433.3366) certification.
• Weapons and explosives are strictly prohibited.
• Vendors are responsible for their own insurance. LCHS will not be liable for any damages or incidents during the event.
• Unload vehicles promptly and park as close to your vendor space as possible to keep paths clear for others. Move your vehicle before unpacking and setting up your booth.
• Displays must stay within assigned areas and must not block traffic. All signage must remain inside your allocated space; signage outside your reserved area is strictly forbidden. Please respect local property and residents by not parking near your booth.
• Keep your space tidy and staffed during event hours. A final cleanup is required after the event, and all vendors must vacate their spaces by 6pm, when streets are cleaned and reopened.
• Weather protection is only available to vendors inside the Canal Market. Bring your own shelter—tent weights are mandatory. Vendors must provide their own tables and display setups.
• Fees will be refunded to vendors who are not accepted. After 9/1/2026, accepted vendors are not eligible for a refund, except under special circumstances as determined by the Event’s impact. The committee reserves the right to accept or deny any vendor.
• Only one 20’ space is permitted per vendor.
• Non-Profit and Civic Organizations are permitted to vend at the festival but may not engage in soliciting donations during the event. All materials and displays must remain within the assigned booth space and must comply with event guidelines and local regulations.
Only official LaSalle County political organizations are permitted to operate booths during the festival. Campaigning is allowed, but must be conducted exclusively within the designated booth area. Organizations that fail to comply with this policy will be required to leave the festival, and refunds will not be issued.
• Vendors are responsible for collecting and remitting state sales tax according to IRS rules. The sales tax rate in Utica is 7%.
