  • This release of liability is applicable to the undersigned participant’s use of the San Miguel County Fairgrounds.
    The Fairgrounds parcel includes, but is not limited to: the Indoor Arena, Outdoor Arena, Stalls, Race Track, and Baseball Fields.
    The undersigned hereby acknowledges that San Miguel County, Colorado, and the entities sponsoring events at the San Miguel County Fairgrounds, may not have liability insurance coverage for events at the Fairgrounds involving the participant. The undersigned specifically acknowledges and understands that neither San Miguel County, Colorado, nor the entity sponsoring the event that the undersigned is participating in, maintain medical insurance or cover any injuries or harm that the undersigned may incur while participating in, or as a result of, the event.
    The undersigned hereby acknowledges that his or her participation in activities on the Fairgrounds involves a potential risk of physical injury or damage to himself or herself and/or his or her animal. In consideration for being permitted to use the Fairgrounds and participating in events occurring therein, the undersigned does hereby release, save and hold harmless all event sponsors and San Miguel County, Colorado, its officials, agents, and employees, from and against any and all liability, claims, injuries, losses, damages, cost, demands, actions or causes of action, judgments and expenses whatsoever arising out of any damage, loss or injury to the participant or the participant’s property, including animal(s), while upon the Fairgrounds, whether such loss, damage, or injury results from the negligent acts and/or omissions of an event sponsor or San Miguel County, their officers, agents, servants, employees, or from some other cause.

    Under Colorado Law, an equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities, pursuant to section 13-21-119, Colorado Revised Statutes.
