2026 Ontario Stallion Incentive Program Rules
1) Enrollment fee for new stallions (not previously enrolled): $750
2) Enrollment fee for existing stallions: $500
3) $100 will be used towards a stallion banner for new stallions. If you already have a banner from the prior season, all monies will go into the incentive fund.
4) Participating stallions will be showcased on our Facebook page as well as the OBFA website. A banner will be displayed at all OBFA participating shows. Our goal is to grow Ontario Futurities and encourage Barrel Racing participants, to breed or buy Ontario sired horses.
5) 100% of the nomination money(less banner for new stallions) will go into a side pot, for Ontario born and bred futurity horses that are participating in the 2024 Ontario Barrel Futurity Association.
6) A sire must be paid into the program, in order for any offspring to be eligible for the Ontario Stallion Incentive Program monies.
7) The side pot will be paid out at the end of the year as the OBFA is based on year end season points. The amount of horses paid, will depend upon the number of stallions that are enrolled. At least 1 horse in the 1D & 2D will be awarded.
AGAIN THIS YEAR –
25% of the money awarded will go to the stallion owner and 75% will go toward the futurity horse owner. IE. If Jane Smith wins $1000 in the stallion side pot on her colt sired by VF Gunpowder, Sharon Cleaves would win $250 and Jane would win $750.
8) The payout will be based on a 70/30 split. 70% being paid to the 1D and 30% being paid to the 2D. The number of positions being paid, will be determined when the final number of horses sired by participating stallions is determined. The Incentive Program will be paid out at the 2024 NBHA Canadian Finals.
Developing a program always takes time to build and develop, we believe this program will grow every year. OBFA's goal is to promote our Ontario Stallions and increase the value of our Ontario bred horses.
