WINTER 2026 HIGHLAND LESSONS - REGISTRATION
  • Semester 2 - REGISTRATION FORM HIGHLAND DANCING CLASSES

    NSOHD Semester 2 – January 14 to March 14, 2026
  • 2025-2026 Classes Available Wednesdays and Saturdays

    Recreational dancers are welcome to attend up to two classes per week. Competitive dancers are strongly encouraged to participate in two classes weekly, as this level of commitment is recommended for skill development. Dancers enrolled in two classes per week are also eligible to take part in performance and choreography competitions.

    Please note that not all Wednesdays and Saturdays are available due to venue constraints and local highland dancing competitions. Be sure to mark your calendars for the dates without classes (listed below).

    Wednesday Schedule 

    7 Class dates: January 14, January 28, February 4, February 11, February 25, March 4, March 11

    No classes on January 21, February 18

    Location: Brunton Hall, Beckwith Township Office

    • Primary (3 to 8 years, or new to highland) 5:30pm to 6:00pm
    • Juniors (8 to 13 years) 6:00pm to 6:50pm
    • Seniors (14+ years) 6:50pm to 7:50pm

    Saturday Schedule 

    7 Class dates: January 17, January 24, January 31, February 7, February 14, February 28, March 7

    No classes on February 21

    Location: Centennial Hall, 152 Church Street, Franktown K7A 4S7 

    • Juniors (8 to 13 years) 9:30am to 10:20am 
    • Seniors (14+ years) 10:20am to 11:20am

    • IMPORTANT: In case of injury or emergency, medical professionals will be contacted to transport the dancer for emergency treatment as soon as possible. We treat all emergencies immediately and we will notify a parent or guardian as soon as possible. Please indicate who should be contacted, if the parent(s) or guardian are not available.

      (Registration Document 2 & 3 are only required for new students for semester 2 or 3)

      By submitting this registration form for my dancer(s), I hereby declare that my child(ren) is(are) physically fit to participate in dance. I understand it is my responsibility to inform the director or teacher(s) immediately, verbally or in writing, if there is a change in my child(ren)'s physical or mental health not disclosed on this form.

      In the event of injury or a change in condition, medical documentation may be requested by the director in order for a dancer(s) to return to training.

      As in any activity, in dance class there is some risk of injury to the participant(s). I hereby hold harmless the [Victoria] Nichols School of Highland Dancing (NSOHD) and any persons involved in its operation and organization, of all liability related to my child(ren)'s participation. I agree to pay all class fees, costume fees and entry fees applicable to my child(ren) during the dance season. I understand that late charges may apply on all overdue accounts and my child(ren)'s participation may be suspended if fees are not paid when due.

       

    • COMPETITIVE DANCERS

    • All competitive dancers are required to provide their teacher with a copy of their current ScotDance Canada/RSOBHD Competitive Dancer Card.

      While renewal forms are officially due January 1, we strongly recommend submitting your renewal after your final December competition to ensure your updated card is received in time for the 2026 season.

      Renewal forms will be provided by Miss Victoria, as they must be signed by a qualified teacher and will include her updated professional registration number.

      Please note: Without a valid, renewed card, highland dancers will not be permitted to compete.

    • TUITION FEES

    • It is recommended that all students attend at least one weekly class, plus commit to at least two hours of practice per week. Videos for practicing can be provided upon request.

      Class fees are: $15 per student/class. All fees must be paid in full at the beginning of the semester. Methods of payment accepted: Cash or e-transfer 

      TUITION FEES for Semester 2 

      Wednesdays: 7 classes = $105
      Saturdays:    7 classes = $105

      Bundle & Save: Register for both Wednesday and Saturday classes for just $180 (includes two free classes =  $30 discount)

       No refunds or credits for students who miss classes during the semester. Any classes cancelled by the teacher due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, will be rescheduled before the end of the semester or credit will be given towards the next semester.
