Thank you for choosing WealthWise Ally Financial Solutions to assist with your tax preparation. This engagement letter outlines the scope of our services, mutual responsibilities, and important terms to ensure a smooth and transparent process.
By proceeding with our services, you agree to the terms outlined below.
Scope of Services
We will prepare your current-year federal income tax return, and state tax return(s) if applicable, based solely on the information you provide. Additional fees may apply for:
Multi-state filings
Self-employment/business income (Schedule C)
Other complex forms or supplemental schedules
We will always inform you in advance if additional charges apply.
Please note:
- We do not provide legal, financial, or investment advice.
- We do not represent clients in audits or legal matters unless separately agreed in writing.
- Additional services such as tax planning, bookkeeping, or audit support are available under separate agreements.
Client Responsibilities
To ensure accurate and timely filing, we ask that you:
- Provide accurate and complete information – including all relevant tax forms (W-2s, 1099s, business income/expenses, etc.).
- Retain your original records – You are responsible for keeping documentation to support all income, credits, and deductions reported.
- Respond promptly – Timely communication is critical to avoid delays in preparing and filing your return.
- Review your return – You’ll have the opportunity to review your return before it is submitted.
Our Responsibilities
You can expect the following from us:
- Preparation of your tax return based on the documents and details you provide
- Full compliance with IRS and state requirements, including due diligence standards
- Confidentiality and secure handling of your personal information
- Clear communication throughout the process, including notification of potential issues or audit triggers
Filing Authorization
Your return will not be filed without your explicit approval.
Once your return is completed, we’ll send it to you for review. After you provide written or electronic approval, we will proceed with e-filing your federal and state returns.
By signing this agreement, you confirm that:
- You have reviewed and approve the tax return to the best of your ability
- You authorize us to file the return electronically after approval
- You have selected your preferred refund method (direct deposit, refund advance, etc.)
Abandonment Fee
If you choose not to file after we’ve completed your return, a $150 abandonment fee will be charged. This fee will be drafted via ACH from the bank account listed on your intake form. By signing this agreement, you consent to this charge.
Fees & Payment Terms
Our pricing is transparent and based on your specific filing needs:
- Your fee includes preparation of your federal and state returns and is based on the complexity and number of forms required.
- Additional fees apply for bank products, refund advances, and third-party services. These will be disclosed prior to your selection.
- If you choose to pay from your refund, convenience fees will also apply.
Payment Options
- Pay upfront via card, Cash App, or other accepted methods
- Deduct fees from your refund (bank product clients only)
Refund Policy
Due to the nature of our work, no refunds will be issued once services are rendered, regardless of whether you choose to file. You are paying for time, expertise, and completed work.
We cannot guarantee:
- A specific refund amount or tax result
- Timing of refunds or IRS/state processing
- Approval for bank products or refund advances
Record Retention Policy
- We will retain a copy of your final return and required documents for three (3) years.
- You are responsible for keeping original documents, including income statements, receipts, and supporting materials.
- If you request a copy of your return after tax season, a $25 retrieval fee may apply.
Termination of Agreement
You may cancel this agreement at any time before your return is filed by providing written notice. Fees for services already performed will still be due.
We also reserve the right to terminate this agreement if:
- Required information is not provided in a timely manner
- False or misleading information is submitted
- Communication becomes unprofessional or abusive
- Continuing the engagement would compromise our ethics or credentials
In the event of termination, all completed work will be billed, and if your return was prepared but not filed, the $150 abandonment fee will apply.
Final Acknowledgment
By signing this engagement letter, you acknowledge that you:
- Understand and accept the terms of this agreement
- Will provide accurate and complete information
- Authorize WealthWise Ally to prepare and file your return upon approval
- Accept all associated fees and policies, including the no-refund and abandonment fee provisions
