Preparation of Your Tax Returns
Thank you for choosing B & Z Savvy Consulting to assist you with your taxes. This letter confirms the terms of our engagement with you and outlines the nature and extent of the services we will provide. In order to ensure an understanding of our mutual responsibilities, we ask all clients for whom returns are prepared to confirm the following arrangements by signing below. We will prepare your federal and applicable state and local income tax returns. This does not include the County Tax (we recommend just paying this online if you are subject to it), or county Business Personal Property Tax returns. We will depend on you to provide the information we need to prepare complete and accurate returns. We may ask you to clarify some items but will not audit or otherwise verify the data you submit. We will perform accounting services only as needed to prepare your tax return for a fee of $50. Accordingly, our engagement should not be relied upon to disclose errors, fraud, or other illegal acts, though it may be necessary for you to clarify some of the information you submit. We will, of course, inform you of any material errors, fraud, or other illegal acts we discover. In signing this letter, you are stating that you have proof of all information supplied to B & Z Savvy Consulting, including mileage logs, receipts, proof of health insurance and other records as required by law.
The law imposes penalties when taxpayers underestimate their tax liability. Should we encounter instances of unclear tax law, or of potential conflicts in the interpretation of the law, we will outline the reasonable courses of action and the risks and consequences of each. We will ultimately adopt, on your behalf, the alternative you select. Our fees are based on the forms required to prepare your return. Once we begin preparation, the minimum fee of $300 applies; your actual fee will represent the complexity of your particular return. Tax preparation fees do NOT include any additional bookkeeping that is required to complete your return. We require full payment for electronic filing of your tax return. Your fee is usually paid through bank products which is optional. We also accept Cash, Debit or Credit Cards. We will return your original records to you at the end of this engagement. You should securely store these records, along with all supporting documents, canceled checks, etc., as these items may later be needed to prove accuracy and completeness of a return. We will retain copies of your records and our work papers for your engagement for three years, after which these documents will be destroyed. Our engagement to prepare your tax return will conclude with the delivery of the completed returns to you (if paper filing) or your signing, and the subsequent submittal, of your tax return (if e-filing Review all tax return documents carefully before signing them. You will be provided an electronic copy of your tax return. If you would like a hard copy in addition, please notify us and one will be provided at a charge of $50. If you receive any letters from the IRS or and State Department of Revenue, please contact us IMMEDIATELY. There is NEVER a charge to review correspondence that you receive on a return that we have prepared. Additional meetings, audit representation, and responding to IRS or Department of Revenue letters will be billed at current rates or you can use a third party audit protection agency (if purchased To affirm that this letter correctly summarizes your understanding of the arrangements for this work, please sign your name in the declaration section at the end of this form.
