    2026 Junior Training Program - Term 1 Registration
  • The West Brisbane Warriors Junior Training Program (JTP) is a weekly volleyball program designed to help young athletes learn, improve, and enjoy the game in a positive and supportive environment.

    JTP is open to players across a wide range of skill levels - from those new to volleyball through to more experienced juniors wanting to continue developing their skills. Sessions focus on building strong fundamentals, confidence, teamwork, and a love for the sport, while still challenging athletes appropriately.

    Our experienced coaches place a strong emphasis on fun, encouragement, and learning, ensuring every athlete feels supported and engaged. Training is structured but enjoyable, helping players develop at their own pace while staying active and motivated.

  • Program Specific Information

    Please read and use the criteria below to make a decision on the program suitable for your child.
  • For Term 1, 2026, the West Brisbane Warriors Junior Training Program (JTP) will offer two days of weekly training sessions, grouped by experience and school year level. They will run for 9 weeks total on both a Wednesday and a Thursday each week.

    See below descriptions - final placement may vary on a case by case basis, as the sessions are, at the core, based on ability, confidence, and experience. 

     Foundational Session 
    (Year 7 and below)

    This session is designed for athletes who are new to volleyball or still developing confidence with the basics. Its run in a squad environment, with a diverse skill range. 

    • Focuses on the development of core volleyball skills: digging, setting, serving, and spiking
    • Welcomes athletes who are completely new to the sport through to those who can perform basic skills but are new to structured or competitive environments
    • Emphasises fun, learning, and confidence-building in a supportive setting
      Sessions are structured to help athletes progress toward consistency while enjoying the game
    • This group is ideal for younger athletes or beginners looking for a positive introduction to volleyball.

     

    Intermediate Session 
    (Year 8 to Year 9)

    The Intermediate session is recommended for athletes who can perform basic skills to a gameplay standard and are ready to develop further.

    • Suitable for players with school or program experience
    • Focuses on refining technique, improving consistency, and developing game understanding
    • Introduces more structured gameplay and decision-making
    • Balances skill development with enjoyable, competitive drills
    • This session is ideal for athletes looking to challenge themselves while continuing to build strong fundamentals.

  • WITHDRAWAL POLICY

    This withdrawal policy applies to athletes participating in the Junior Training Programs. All athletes will need to agree to the withdrawal policy prior upon registration.

    Athletes withdrawing from the program are subject to the following refund policy:

    WITHDRAWAL PERIOD FEE / POLICY
    PRIOR TO FIRST SESSION 100% REFUND
    AFTER FIRST SESSION 50% REFUND
    SECOND SESSION OR LATER NO REFUND

     

    Exemptions to Withdrawal Policy

    If an athlete is injured after the signup date and is unable to play for the rest of the term, a refund may be offered on a pro-rated basis.
    Should an athlete not have attended any session of the program, a full refund may be given based on the situation. A case-by-case basis on refunds may apply depending on the circumstance or situation. This will be determined by the Junior Programs Director/Junior Training Program Manager.

  • TERM 1 - PROGRAM SCHEDULE

    Over Term 1, sessions for foundational and intermediate will run over Wednesday and Thursday, with a secondary (seperate) session for the intermediate program running in the second time slot.

    Each session costs $180.00, please note that there is a card surcharge of approximately 1.9%.

    WEDNESDAYS: 4 February 2026 - 1 April 2026 (9 weeks)
    THURSDAYS: 5 February 2026 - 2 April 2026 (9 weeks)

    Program Capacity:
    18 athletes per session

    Program Cost:
    $180.00 per athlete per program
