Foster High School in the Tukwila School District, one of the most culturally and linguistically diverse districts in Washington state, has partnered with Sea Mar to offer the Foster High School Latino Leaders Scholarship, a scholarship to promote Latino academic achievement, to actively work against barriers that hinder academic opportunities, and to increase diversity in the professional work force. 

To be eligible to apply, an applicant must:

• Foster High School seniors of Latino/a heritage
• Planning to enroll in at least 10 credits per quarter/semester in an institute of higher education during the 2026 - 2027 academic year.
• Show commitment to their education, demonstrates leadership and cares for the community.
• This scholarship is open to any student regardless of citizenship status.

Scholarship Amount: $1,000

To be considered for this scholarship, you are expected to provide answers to the following four (4) questions:

Question 1: Briefly tell us about yourself. Include information such as your short- and long-term goals.

Question 2: Describe any challenges or barriers you have experienced in your efforts to graduate high school.

Question 3: Describe any leadership activities you participate in and what you have learned from them.

Question 4: Sea Mar is a community based non-profit that specializes in quality care for diverse communities. If you could make any changes to your school or community, what changes would you make?

Each essay must be a minimum 300 words and max of 500 words.

We highly suggest you write and save your essay responses in a seperate document and when ready to submit, copy and paste into this application.

Give yourself time to fix any formatting errors before submitting.

All applications are to be submitted by April 15, 2026 at 11:59PM PST.
