  • Welcome! If you're interested in growing as a musician and barbershopper (and we know you are!), then you've come to the right place. Harmony College Northeast is a weekend of singing, learning, coaching, and socializing with your fellow barbershoppers. HCNE offers three separate learning tracks this year where you could...

...Join us in the Classroom Learner Track to attend five 75 minute workshops on topics from vocal instruction to performance technique to conducting techniques.

...Come with your quartet to participate in our Quartet Coaching Track and spend time with three incredibly talented coaches. Build the skills your quartet needs to level up. There will be before and after performance opportunities and you'll have access to a classroom learning session as well. Quartet Track spaces are limited. Quartets will be assigned a spot on the Quartet Track roster in the order they become fully registered (all 4 members).  If your quartet is partially registered when the spots are sold out, the members affected will be given the choice of moving their registration to a different track or taking a refund.

...Or join the Gold Festival Chorus Experience under the direction of Deke Sharron as you prepare to perform Still the One (SATB) on the Saturday night show. You'll also have access to three of the classroom learning sessions.

Tuition for HCNE is based on your Room & Board selection and whether you registered early enough to take advatage of the amazing Early Bird Discount! Early Birds need to catch that deal before {earlyBird}. You can choose to stay on-campus in a dorm room (often a triple room; roommates may be requested and requests are usually honored) or you can choose to find your own accomodations by registering as a commuter for a discount. On-campus dorm accommodations include dining in the campus cafeteria.

    Dining Considerations:

All meals are held in the Nichols College cafeteria in Lombard.

For those who choose to register for On-Campus accommodations, your meals include dinner Friday; breakfast lunch and dinner on Saturday; and breakfast on Sunday morning.

Commuter registration includes dinner Friday, and lunch and dinner on Saturday.

    On-Campus Lodging at Nichols:

Lodging for the weekend is in a dormitory.  It is convenient and affordable, but it is not a hotel.  You should expect:

    • Bring Your Own Linens - You must bring your own bedding from home (single sheets, pillow case, & blanket).
    • Roommates - There will be two or three adults per room.
    • Shared Bathrooms - Pack a towel, washcloth, a robe and toiletries including soap & shampoo
    • Dorm Keys - Please Don’t Lose Your Keys. If you do lose your keys, there is a $95 replacement fee.
    • It Could Be Loud - Barbershoppers love to sing and there will be 100-150 in your building.  There will likely be singing often.
    • Late Night Parties - We fully expect that an informal afterglow will occur in the dorm both Friday and Saturday night.  Pack earplugs if you need them 😉

If you can’t live happily in this situation for the weekend, we recommend you consider staying at a local hotel and registering as a commuter.

    Nichols College Campus Rules:

    • No hot plates or cooking in dorm rooms
    • No propping exterior doors or interior fire doors
    • Firearms, weapons, ammunition, fireworks, explosives, and highly flammable materials are not allowed within the residence halls, buildings, grounds or anywhere on College property.

    Refund Policy:

Your reservation is 100% refundable until June 5, 2026

Your reservation is 50% refundable until June 19, 2026

Your reservation is not refundable on or after July 3, 2026

    Stay Comfotable:

The event happens at various locations around the campus.  If you have mobility challenges please let the staff know at the time of registration.   We will try to accomodate.

Please remember it can be very warm in July.  Make sure to bring a water bottle and drink lots of water.  Make sure to wear comfortable, supportive shoes.
