• Water for Warrill - Member Survey

  • Help Shape the Future of Water for Warrill

Member Survey and Stage 2 Investigations
  • Why Your Input Matters

The Queensland Government has committed $1 million to support planning for improved water security in the Warrill and Fassifern Valleys. This investment enables us to move forward with Stage 2 investigations, which will focus on deeper technical and policy work, including:

    • Developing and testing expanded water trading and flood harvesting rules
    • Exploring options for carryover of unused allocations
    • Investigating on-farm storage and overland flow capture
    • Preparing proposals for the replacement Moreton Water Plan
    • Undertaking appropriate water demand studies
    • Gathering information which will feed into business cases Government investment.

These investigations will position our region for future infrastructure and recycled water opportunities.

The Stage 2 Investigations will be led by one of Queensland’s leading Water Planners Tom Vanderbyl and as these works advance Tom will be in contact with you to gain information, perspective and understanding about your water resource business needs.

Your insights are critical to ensure these plans reflect the real needs of growers and producers.

    Member Survey

As a starting point for our Stage 2 works, we have prepared a Member Survey to collect information on current water use, future demand, and potential economic and employment impacts. This data will:

Strengthen our advocacy with Government for improved water productivity
Inform and frame Stage 2 technical work and future planning
Help us demonstrate the economic benefits of additional water for the valley
Help the W4W team to scope water demand needs and identify infrastructure options for Business Case work.
The survey will take 10–15 minutes to complete, and all responses will be kept confidential and reported only in aggregate.

    Next Steps

Please complete the survey by 10th April 2026. Your participation will help us secure the best possible outcomes for our region.

We are excited to commence Stage 2 investigations and will keep you informed as this work progresses. Thank you for your continued support and commitment to building a stronger, more resilient future for agriculture in the Scenic Rim.

If you have any questions, please contact our office at info@waterforwarrill.com.au.

    Yours sincerely,

  • Background

  • The Water for Warrill Project is a strategic initiative designed to improve water reliability and security for agricultural producers in the Scenic Rim. With the potential to generate $305 million in direct economic benefit, $150 million in new agricultural revenue, and create over 1,300 full-time jobs, this project is a game-changer for the region.

Supported by the Queensland Government, the project is currently undertaking an Options Analysis to explore infrastructure and non-infrastructure solutions that will deliver improved access to water for the Warrill and Fassifern Valleys.

This project has now been prioritized by the Queensland Government and provided $1 million to undertake planning works to drive water development opportunities for growers in Warrill and Fassifern Valleys.

  • Purpose

  • This survey collects information to support planning for water infrastructure in the Warrill Valley. Your responses will help Water for Warrill (W4W) verify records, understand current water use and demand, and assess potential production and employment impacts of additional water availability.
