  • Scholarship Program Overview

    Greater Orlando Alliance of Black Accountants (GOABA) is honored to continue with its tradition of assisting local students within our community to realize their educational dreams. Through the generous contributions of GOABA’s corporate partners, members, and other organizations that share our , we mission we are able to acknowledge and reward the achievements of our youth and to assist in breaking through the economic barriers minorities often experience.

  • Requirements

    Applicants Must:

    • Complete GOABA Scholarship Application.
    • Have an overall and major GPA of at least 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale.
    • Be an ethnic minority who is currently enrolled as a full-time associate, undergraduate (12 semester hours or equivalent) or graduate student (9 semester hours or equivalent) or accepted into a master level business program.
    • Be pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
    • College or University should be within the Central and North Florida areas.
    • Be a student member of GOABA at the time of application and at the time the award is distributed. Student membership is free. Click here to join (see special note below regarding membership).
    • Be able to attend the GOABA Annual Scholarships and Awards Luncheon (Date/Time/LocationTBD) in order to receive awarded scholarship.
    • Submit an unofficial Fall academic transcript.
    • Submit a letter of recommendation from a member of the accounting/business faculty at your college/university or from a non-relative who is familiar with your academic and/or professional performance (i.e. employer, adviser, faculty, etc.).
    • Submit a personal biography with the application. If awarded a scholarship, your personal biography will be included in our scholarship program book.
    • Submit an essay response of 200 - 500 words with the application (Topic listed on essay submission page).
    • Provide ALL of the information requested in the application to be considered, no later than March 7, 2026 @ 11:59 p.m.

    Special Note: Regardless of the circumstances, once becoming a professional member, you are not permitted to return to student status. Graduate students must have entered graduate school immediately after receiving their undergraduate degree in order to maintain student status and be eligible for a scholarship award.

     

    Scholarship Payout

    Actual cash awards will be paid in two halves, one in the Fall 2026 semester and the second portion in the Spring 2027 semester. Students must prove full-time enrollment (12 credits minimum is considered full-time) to receive the full award.

    Scholarship awards payout is based upon receipt of your university official 2026 registration of classes enrollment.

  • Applicant Statement

  • In submitting this application, I hereby certify that:

    1. I have met ALL requirements as outlined and acknowledge that misrepresentation of the information presented may be grounds to rescind the scholarship award. I also agree to inform the scholarship committee of any significant changes to that information.

    2. I will use the proceeds of any scholarship aid received for the payment of tuition, required fees, room and board, and/or required materials only.

    3. If I am awarded a scholarship, I will provide satisfactory evidence, as required by GOABA, of my full-time enrollment during the period(s) for which the scholarship is awarded.

    4. I understand that submission of this application constitutes permission to use my name and/or photograph for promotional purposes in all GOABA publications.

    5. I understand that my application for the scholarship may also be used for internship consideration with GOABA sponsors.

    6. I understand that if I am awarded a scholarship, I am required to attend the GOABA Scholarships & Awards Luncheon in Spring 2025 (Date: April 19, 2025/Time: 11 AM - 2 PM/Location: Grand Bohemian Orlando ).
