Teacher Education Workshop: Practicing Inclusive Community through Play
  • Practicing Inclusive Community Through Play

  • Workshop Description

You can’t sit here. You can’t play with us. Run away, so-and-so is the bad guy! These are all things we have probably heard at one point or another if not in our preschool communities, then most certainly in our own lives. Rejection is a part of life, and is a lesson we often learn from a young age. But what do we do when these moments arise? How do we help our littles navigate their personal boundaries and preferences within a learning community? In this workshop we will explore how to model and inspire strong learning communities through inclusionary language, community agreements, and conflict resolution skills.
