Mental Health and Wellbeing Service
As part of providing a psychological services to you, psyché | logue needs to collect and record personal information from you that is relevant to your current situation.
Purpose of Collecting and Holding Information
The information is gathered as part of the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of the client’s condition, and is seen only by the psychology practitioner, doctor or relevant allied health professional. The information is retained in order to document what happens during sessions, and enables the psychology practitioner, doctor or allied health professional to provide a relevant and informed service.
Access to Client Information
At any stage, you, as a client are entitled to access to the information about you kept on file, unless the relevant legislation provides otherwise. Your psychology practitioner may discuss with you appropriate forms of access.
Client information is generally stored electronically and only accessible by authorised employees or practitioners. While every effort is made to ensure your data remains in a data centre within Australia this may not always be the case.
Confidentiality
All personal information gathered by your clinician during the provision of the service will remain confidential and secure except where:
- it is subpoenaed by a court;
- failure to disclose the information would place you or another person at serious and imminent risk; or
- your prior approval has been obtained to:
- provide a written report to another professional or agency (e.g. a GP or a lawyer); or
- discuss the material with another person (e.g. a parent or employer),
- if disclosure is otherwise required or authorised by law.
Access to client information is limited to administration staff, professional advisors (if required in a strictly confidential manner), another health professional (if required by way of handover or third party professional consultation), and finally the practice director to ensure that the highest levels of professional treatment is provided.
Fees and Reminders
The cost of a treatment at psyché | logue varies depending on the nature and duration of the service. A schedule of applicable fees is list on our website and may be found via https://www.psychelogue.com/appointments.
Consultation times vary by psychology practitioner but generally, sessions are for a total of 60 minutes, with 50 minutes of session time, and 10 minutes of clinical administrative time.
Fees are payable at the time of consultation by EFTPOS (Visa or Mastercard) or Bank Transfer. In most cases, Medicare rebate claims can be made at the time of payment on your behalf if the treatment is Medicare eligible. Alternatively, private health insurance rebates are generally claimable at the time of treatment payment. Claims may either be processed on your behalf or you will be provided with further guidance on claim options if immediate claiming for either Medicare or private heath insurance are not available. You may need to reach out to Medicare or private health insurer directly.
Appointment reminders are sent prior to treatments. If you are not receiving appointment reminders, please let us know.
Cancellation Policy
Late cancellation of appointments is a major inconvenience to our psychology practitioners and to other clients that may be on the waiting list. We understand that in some cases events can occur meaning your appointments may need to be cancelled or deferred. If you need to cancel or postpone your appointment, we would appreciate it if you would provide at least 48 hours notice. If you do cancel within this period or fail to attend the appointment you will be charged the $50 non-attendance fee.
Please note that Medicare does not cover cancelled appointments.
