NO --- To begin preparing your income tax return, we’ll need your authorization. You can provide this through your Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) “My Account.”
Below is the information how to register "My Account"
Before you start, you will need all of the following:
- Your social insurance number (SIN)
- Your date of birth
- Amounts you reported on your most recent tax return. Use only the amounts that you reported on your return, even if your return was reassessed and the amounts have changed.
Start the Registration
Go to CRA My Account – Sign up.
Click “CRA register” (not the Sign-In Partner option).
Create Your CRA User ID and Password
Choose a User ID, password, and set up security questions.
Enter the requested personal info
After you finish the that part, CRA mails a one-time security code to the address they have on file. Make sure the postal code matches the one on your last tax return. If you move before, please update your address with CRA first (call 1-800-959-8281).
This letter usually arrives in 5–10 business days.
