Volunteer Code of Conduct & Confidentiality Agreement:
Respectful Behavior
- Treat all individuals with dignity, respect, and kindness regardless of race, gender, age, religion, disability, or background.
- Refrain from language, jokes, gestures, or conversations that may be perceived as offensive, inappropriate, or discriminatory.
Appropriate Interactions
- No inappropriate language, touching, or suggestive behavior with any child, parent, caregiver, staff member, or volunteer.
- Physical contact with participants, particularly children, must be limited, respectful, and only when necessary and appropriate.
- Any concerns regarding inappropriate behavior must be reported immediately to Esperanza de Tejas staff.
Safety & Boundaries
- Follow all safety guidelines provided by Esperanza de Tejas.
- Never be alone with a child or vulnerable individual.
- Do not transport participants or other volunteers unless explicitly authorized.
Professional Representation
- Arrive on time, wear appropriate clothing, and maintain a professional demeanor.
- Conduct yourself in a manner that reflects positively on Esperanza de Tejas at all times.
Confidentiality
- Respect the privacy of individuals served and do not disclose personal, sensitive, or identifying information.
- Do not take photos or videos of participants without express permission from Esperanza de Tejas leadership.
