Performer Code of Conduct & Agreement

Welcome, Thank you for stepping into the arena.
Showgirl Showdown is a high-impact, theatrical, competition-style burlesque event rooted in consent, professionalism, spectacle, and mutual respect. While the themes may be fierce, provocative, or combative in nature, the environment itself is safety-first, consent-centered, and community-driven.
This Code of Conduct applies to all performers, competitors, stage kittens, judges, crew, volunteers, and production staff involved in Showgirl Showdown at Red Light Café.
At-Will Engagement & Independent Contractor Status
All participants are engaged as independent contractors, not employees of Showgirl Showdown, Red Light Café, or any affiliated producer.
Participation is at-will, meaning either the performer or production may end participation at any time, for any reason, with or without notice.
Nothing in this agreement creates an employer-employee relationship, partnership, joint venture, or residency.
Venue Relationship Clarification
Showgirl Showdownis produced independently and hosted at Red Light Café, which serves as the venue only.
Red Light Café is not your employer
All contracts, payments, and show communications are handled byShowgirl Showdown
Please direct all questions regarding casting, pay, conduct, or performance requirements to production — not the venue
Community Values
Showgirl Showdown is committed to creating a space that is:
Harassment-free
Consent-forward
Inclusive of all bodies, genders, races, sexualities, abilities, and identities
Discrimination, intimidation, or disrespect will not be tolerated — onstage, backstage, online, or in private communication.
Professionalism is expected in performance, rehearsal, competition conduct, judging interactions, and online behavior.
Consent Is Non-Negotiable
We practice and require clear, enthusiastic, informed consent at all times.
Stoplight Consent Language:
Red = Stop immediately. No negotiation.
Yellow = Pause and renegotiate.
Green = Freely given, enthusiastic yes.

Props, costumes, and physical space
Consent is the baseline — not the bonus.
Zero Tolerance Behaviors
The following are strictly prohibited:
Racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, classist, or body-shaming language
Slurs, threats, intimidation, or violence
Unwanted sexual attention or physical contact
Harassment, stalking, doxxing (online or in person)
Ignoring stated boundaries
Gossip, passive-aggressive behavior, or public conflict that disrupts production
Negative or disparaging social media posts about performers, judges, production, or the venue
Posting explicit or violent content involving others without consent
Violations may result in immediate removal.
Venue Safety: Powders, Liquids & Messy Acts
Red Light Café requires strict compliance with venue safety rules.
Any act involving powders, liquids, food, glitter, blood effects, or residue requires video approval at least 2 weeks before the event
No video = no approval
Glitter counts as powder
If approved:
You must bring towels, wraps, foot coverings, and protective barriers
Sound equipment must remain fully protected
You are responsible for setup, teardown, and cleanup
Unapproved use may result in financial liability and loss of future booking
Alcohol, Substances & Safety
Performers, competitors, aerialists, fire performers, and safety personnel must remain sober until all performance duties are complete
Anyone suspected of intoxication may be removed and forfeit pay
Responsible celebration is permitted after final duties
Performers are responsible for their own bar tabs
Green Room Expectations
No open or uncovered liquids
Respect shared space
Clean up after yourself
Be mindful — competition energy can be intense, but this remains a supportive environment
Professional Conduct
All participants agree to:
Arrive on time and check in with production
Communicate delays or emergencies promptly
Treat cast, crew, judges, and venue staff with courtesy
Handle conflict directly and respectfully or bring concerns to production
Assist with basic stage flow or transitions as requested
Reporting & Accountability
If you experience or witness harm, harassment, or boundary violations:
Report directly and confidentially to Showgirl Showdown production
All reports are taken seriously
In emergencies, call 911 immediately
We are not here to punish — we are here to protect the arena.
Consequences for Violations
Failure to comply may result in:
Verbal or written documentation
Removal from the event without pay or refund
Disqualification from competition
Ban from future Showgirl Showdown productions
Communication with other producers if safety is at risk
Violation of code of conduct may result in loss of prize money and title
