2026 Shearing Services

My 7th Season Shearing! Due to loosing my dear friend, Drew Ross Manko this fall, I have taken on the additional work load of Ross Farm's 150+ flock of sheep. Please be patient with availability this year as I navigate having a full time job, a family and now a large working farm.

When did you want shearing?
How many sheep/camelids do you have? Please be aware I primarily do small flocks of 30 or less.
What breeds of sheep do you have?

When is your lambing window? Please do not guess. It is stressful on the ewe to be shorn late in gestation or within 30 days of lambing
Do you understand sheep MUST be dry in order for them to be shorn? The blades will gum up and be useless. If sheep are wet upon arrival of shearing appointment, mileage and set are due. Appointment will then be rescheduled.
Do you understand that sheep need to be kept completely off feed and limited on water for at least 12 hours? This is in the best interest of the sheep for cleanliness and comfort.

Pricing for the 2026 Season

I am only accepting Cash or Credit Cards via PayPal for this season. PayPal will also have a 3% processing fee.

Invoices must be paid at time of service. Invoicing will be sent out the day before your scheduled appointment.
- Mileage $1 per mile
- Set-up and equipment $80
- Camelid Shearing $50 per head
- Ewe Shearing $8 per head
- Ram/Wether Shearing $15 head
- Babydoll Shearing $20 per head
- EMERGENCY FEE $450 (for humane cases, 'hot weather concerns', urgency, week day demands)
*Please understand this is not my full time job. I am a one woman outfit, I have teenage children that have extracirrculars and a 9-5 M-F Job. My schedule opens up in January and shearing is a COMMITMENT TO ANNUAL ANIMAL CARE.
Boss mare shearing is not responsible for wool handling. Very rarely do we take fleeces unless specifically agreed upon.
I understand that set up and equipment charge is $80 minimum, mileage will be sent in a quote. Both mileage and equipment fees will need to be paid in the event that shearing must be canceled due to wet sheep. There will also be a $50 per 15 minute wait time if she are not penned prior to arrival.
Do you understand that filling this form out means that you ARE on our shearing list. If we do not service your area or do not feel we can get to you within your preferred time frame we will let you know fairly quickly. For everyone else please understand that shearing and driving all day limits the time we have to be scheduling and contacting folks. I also have a regular full time job. If you decide to schedule with someone else then you need to let us know asap. Failure to do so will result in future refusals from us to even consider your job. This especially applies near the end of the season when people try to schedule with multiple shearers and take the first option given.
I understand it is now late season and it is hot. I am hot, you are hot, the animals are hot, and my equipment is hot. Please be advised I have had my schedule out since January. Shearing is an ANNUAL COMMITMENT TO ANIMAL CARE. Requesting ASAP or "emergency" services is an ADDITIONAL $350 call fee.
Please be aware that as a "brand" I bring along video equipment. Sometimes I take these videos and edit them for social media, this helps me as way of references. I do not name drop, or give any details other than the type of sheep if asked.
