Accessible Tourism Accreditation Program Application Form (Multi-Room) Logo
  • Accessible Tourism Accreditation Program Application Form

  • Thank you for listing your property with Accessible Accommodation to achieve accreditation in the Accessible Tourism Accreditation Program. By completing this submission, you are helping travellers with disability (and their families, friends, and carers) book with confidence, knowing what to expect before they arrive, and growing your revenue.

To accurately assess your property and create a clear accessibility profile, we will ask detailed questions and for measurements. The more specific your answers, the easier it is for guests to quickly decide if your place suits their needs, and the more likely they are to book.

If anything is unclear while you’re completing the form, you can reach us anytime by calling Grant on 0417 553 509 or Kerry on 0477 103 808.

The application is extensive and does not need to be completed in one sitting. With a little preparation, the process takes around 35 minutes.

A quick way to make the submission faster (and smoother) is before you start the form, please do these two things. It makes the process faster for you and helps us accurately verify your accessible features.

    1) Pre-measure a few key things

    Have your measurements ready for:

    Bedroom

    • Bed height
    • Clearance underneath the bed (for hoists/lifting devices)
    • Distance between the bed and the wall (side closest to the entry)

    Bathroom

    • Height of shower edge (if any)
    • Shower dimensions (if not open plan)

    Dining and Living area

    • Height clearance under dingin table
    • Sofa height, and whether the sofa has arms

    Access measurements

    • Door widths
    • Corridor width

What to measure depends on your property type:

Cabin/apartment/house: entry door, accessible bathroom, accessible bedroom(s), inside key rooms (bedroom, bathroom, living/dining, kitchen), and corridor widths

Hotel room: main entry, room entry, corridor width, and bathroom door width

    2) Film a simple video tour on your phone

A video tour is vital to confirm accessible features and help guests clearly see what they’re booking.

    • Hold your phone horizontally
    • Start at the entry and show it is step-free
    • In each room, do a slow 360° pan
    • No fancy filming needed — we’ll take care of polishing it (we can remove sound and add clear graphics)

    Important!

There are a set of minimum requirements that you MUST meet the to be elligible for accreditation and list your property with Accessible Accommodation. Please answer the following 6 questions to determine if you meet the minimum requirements for Level 1 - Assisted Walking.

  • About Your Property

Now you need to tell us a bit about your property. What you enter here will be used for the core content of your property listing page on our site.
  • DO NOT USE "&" SYMBOL IN TEXT FIELDS

  • In the field below please provide a detailed description of the accessible features of your property including the bathroom. This will appear in the property description page of your listing. It is vital you include a paragraph detailing the accessible room configurations, for example:

XYZ has 2 x Accessible Studio Apartments, 2 x Accessible One Bedroom Apartments, 1 x Accessible Two-Bedroom Apartment, and 1 x Accessible Three-Bedroom Apartment. The accessible studio apartment also has interconnecting option with a traditional 2 bedroom apartment, to make one large 3 bedroom apartment. Each first bedroom  has king size beds which can be split into 2 singles. Where there is a second or third bedroom , there are 2 single beds.

Note: Please describe the property in the third person, i.e. "The property is easily accessible", rather than "Our property is easily accessible".

  • Images and Video

When preparing to upload your images please choose not only traditional style photos but also a mix of regular images and accessible images. To ensure you receive frequent bookings, it is vital you include images of all accessible amenities. We recommend at least 2 photos of the bathroom and 1 of the bedroom. The photos do not need to be professional and can be just taken with your phone.

The same applies for the walkthrough video. Our followers like authenticity, so professionally created walkthrough videos are not accepted. Please provide a video created by you, or one of your staff, walking through the property with a focus on the accessible features. Note that we will add custom graphics and remove all sound in the video before using so no need to narrate or add audio. Similarly, we speed up or slow down when required.

IMPORTANT: guests are 6 times more likely to book if they see good images of accessible amenities. (Showing access, the bathroom, equipment and so on).

Sometimes the form may have trouble saving or uploading files. If you see “Unable to save data” or “Unable to upload files”, please remove a few uploaded files and try again (or remove them all if needed).

No stress — if your submission arrives without photos or videos, we’ll email you a secure link to upload them separately.
