To the International Community, the United Nations, and the Global Diaspora:

For over a decade, three South Korean citizens—Kim Jung-wook (detained 2013), Kim Kook-kie (detained 2014), and Choi Chun-gil (detained 2014)—have been held in North Korea. These men were not political agents; they were humanitarian workers and missionaries providing food and aid to those in need along the border.

Sentenced to life in labor camps, they have been denied all communication with their families and the outside world. As members of the global Christian diaspora, we refuse to let their names be forgotten.

By signing this petition, we demand:

An immediate life-check: Transparent proof of life and health status for all three men.
Humanitarian access: Allowing the Red Cross or international observers to visit them.
Unconditional Release: Their immediate return to their families in South Korea.
“Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoner.” (Hebrews 13:3)

We stand together across borders to say: 10 years is enough. Bring them home.

 

국제사회와 전 세계 한인 디아스포라 공동체에 호소합니다.

대한민국 국민인 김정욱(2013년 억류), 김국기(2014년 억류), 최춘길(2014년 억류) 선교사가 북한에 억류된 지 10년이 넘었습니다. 이들은 정치적 스파이가 아닙니다. 접경 지역에서 굶주린 이들에게 빵과 소망을 전하던 인도주의 활동가이자 선교사들이었습니다.

무기노동교화형을 선고받은 이들은 가족과의 연락은 물론, 생사 확인조차 되지 않는 가혹한 환경 속에 방치되어 있습니다. 전 세계에 흩어져 사는 우리 한인 디아스포라 기독교 공동체는 이들의 이름이 잊히는 것을 거부하며, 다음과 같이 강력히 요구합니다.

우리의 요구사항:

생사 확인: 세 분의 현재 건강 상태와 생사를 즉각 확인해 줄 것을 요구한다.
인도적 접근: 국제적십자사나 국제 관찰단의 면회를 허용하라.
즉각 석방: 10년의 고통을 끝내고 이들이 가족의 품으로 돌아올 수 있도록 무조건 석방하라.
"너희도 함께 갇힌 것 같이 갇힌 자를 생각하고..." (히브리서 13:3)

우리는 국경을 넘어 함께 서서 외칩니다. "10년이면 충분합니다. 이제는 집으로 보내주십시오."
