  • DRESSAGE SA ATHLETES AGREEMENT

    YOUTH SQUAD/S
  • Should you be accepted as a Dressage South Australia Youth Development Squad or Emerging Riders Squad member, you will be expected to:

    • Abide by the principles of the FEI Code of Conduct for the Welfare of the Horse at all times.

    • Learn and abide by the rules of our sport (found in the FEI/Equestrian Australia Rules for Dressage, the Equestrian Australia General Regulations and Code of Conduct) and respect the decision/s of officials. www.fei.org and www.equestrian.org.au

    • Be fair, respectful, considerate and honest in all dealings with others including but not limited to fellow riders, coaches, parents, officials, volunteers and spectators.

    • Conduct yourself in a professional manner relating to language, temper and punctuality; be courteous, kind and always set a good example in dress and high personal behaviour standards.

    • Accept responsibility for your actions and be a positive role model and ambassador for the sport of Dressage.

    • Not tolerate acts of aggression or harassment towards people or horses.

    • Care for and respect any clothing/equipment provided to you as a Dressage South Australia Squad Member.

    • Always acknowledge, thank and respect sponsors and their involvement in the Squad and our sport.

Work equally hard for yourself and your fellow riders. Be prepared to set goals to help you achieve your aims and ambitions.

    • Be prepared to make a long-term commitment to the Squad and the values that drive it.

    • Squads are selected from horse/pony and rider combinations. Should, at any time, a situation arise that may impact your eligibility to be a member of the Squad, for example you or your horse are injured and unable to compete for a period greater than three months; your horse is sold; or your behaviour is such that it places the reputation of the Squad and/or any sponsor at risk, the Dressage South Australia committee reserves the right to review your position on the squad. It is important that you notify the State Squad and High-Performance Coordinator dressage@equestriansa.com.au of injury or sale of a horse/pony as a priority.

I have read these conditions and agree to abide by them.
