Agreement to Terms and Conditions
Please review and agree to the terms and conditions before submitting your application. Applications open on 1 April 2026 and close by cob 5 June 2026. Applications are submitted online to the Secretary at helencook8@bigpond.com along with one clear photo of your entry. Do not include material or flowers in the photo. Your pottery container must be suitable as a container for an ikebana arrangement and must reliably hold a quantity of water. It should be no larger than 50x50x50 cm. Applications must be accompanied by the application fee of $25 paid by bank transfer to: Sogetsu Ikebana Qld Association Inc BSB 084255 Acc No 83871 1869. Include your name on the bank transfer. The entry fee is non-refundable. Receipt of your application will be confirmed by email. As a condition of entry, the winning piece will become the property of Sogetsu Ikebana Queensland. The winning work will be acquired as part of our permanent collection and retained for ongoing use in official Sogetsu demonstrations, exhibitions, educational activities, and promotional materials. By entering the competition, potters agree that full ownership and unrestricted usage rights transfer to Sogetsu Ikebana Queensland upon announcement of the winner. The acquisition value is included in the prize award. All other competition pots will available for sale at our annual Sogetsu Ikebana Queensland Exhibition on 13 – 14 June 2026. The Association retains 30% commission on new containers with the remaining sales price sent to your nominated bank account within 4 weeks. Delivery of your artwork Deliver your pottery entry to the Sogetsu Ikebana Exhibition Ikebana Shop at the Mt Coot-tha Auditorium between 9.00am and 3.00pmon Friday 12 June during the set-up period for our Exhibition. The winner will be advised by text after the judging is completed on the evening of 12 June. The judges’ decision is final. The prize of $500 will be transferred to the bank account nominated on the winner’s application. Potters entering the competition are welcome to provide up to three pots suitable for ikebana for sale at the Exhibition Ikebana Shop during the event at no additional cost. These pots must reliably hold a quantity of water. These items should also be delivered on Friday 12 June. The Ikebana Shop Convenor will manage the display of containers available for sale during the Exhibition. Unsold pots must be collected from 3-5pm on Sunday 14 June. Announcement of the Winner The winner is welcome to attend the Opening Ceremony for the Sogetsu Ikebana Queensland Exhibition on Saturday 13 June at 10.15am at the Mt Coot-tha Auditorium to celebrate your successful Prize entry. Your prize of $500 will be sent to your nominated bank account.
