2026 METG Writing Contests

The METG is excited to announce 3 writing contests for 2026!

The Sherwood Collins Playwriting Contest - this contest is open to students in grades 9-12.
The Monologue Writing Contest - this contest is open to students in grades 5-12.
The 10 Minute Play Contest - this contest is open to students in grades 5-12.

Students may register for more than one contest, but can not submit mulitple entries to any contest. Registration is $15 per student per contest for member schools and $20 per student per contest for non-member schools. If you are unsure if you are a member school, please email metg@metg.org.

The deadline to register is January 31, 2026. You do NOT need to have anything written in order to register!

Writing submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis through March 8, 2026. We will send out instructions to upload your submission when registration closes.

Winners will be announced in early April and an evening of readings will be held this spring at Norwood High School.
