New Year Winter Bird Walk with Jack Bindernagel

Donate to the CCFS to attend!
Winter is a wonderful time to learn about the birds of Cumberland. It's 2026, let's celebrate with a guided walk through the Village observing birds that make Cumberland their winter home. Your guide is biologist Jack Bindernagel.
Join us for a winter bird walk at Cumberland marsh on Sunday February 1. Our warblers, flycatchers and vireos may have left for warmer, sunnier places, but there’s still lots of life in the woods in the form of sparrows, finches, kinglets and woodpeckers. All ages and experience levels welcome.
Jack Bindernagel is a recently graduated biology student originally from Courtenay. He's been birding as a hobby since he was 12 years old, mostly in the Comox Valley. He's also interested in include vascular plants, lichens, bryophytes, and fish.
