Jeffree Charles' journey and love for music began at the age of 13 in Cleveland, Ohio, while managing his mother’s record shop. He began singing and performing with local music acts and graduated from college to become a radio host. In 1987, Jeffree Charles was a popular radio personality at 93.1 WZAK when he met the owner of PJ Records in East Orange, NJ. He was offered his first single deal that became the regional hit "Tonight at Nine".
Jeffree Charles was dubbed “the singing DJ" and began booking shows with acts such as Karyn White, Lakeside, Stylistics, Freddie Jackson, Brian McKnight, The S.O.S. Band, War, Glenn Jones, and many others. In 1994, Jeffree Charles began hosting on KISS 104.7/KISS 104.1 (WALR) in Atlanta, GA. He released his album Come Get This Lovin, which included the songs “Private Time” and “If It Ain't Broke”.
His new collaboration with G.O.D. Productions is expanding his R&B background into the Southern Soul genre with the songs "I Caught My Wife", "A Southern Soul Jam", “Put it on Ya”, and more. Jeffree Charles is set to release multiple projects in 2026 and is currently the host of the “Sunday Cruise” show on Radio One's Classix 102.9 in Atlanta, GA.
