Parent Sessions
We deeply value our partnership with parents in the faith formation of their children. Research consistently shows that the single greatest influence on whether a young person practices their faith into adulthood is the importance of faith in the lives of their parents.
According to the National Study of Youth and Religion, only 1% of teens ages 15–17 whose parents placed little importance on practicing their faith remained highly religious in their mid-20s. In contrast, 82% of young people whose parents regularly talked about faith at home went on to place great importance on their beliefs and remain active in their faith as adults. While clergy, youth ministers, and parish programs all play meaningful roles, their influence cannot replace the formative impact of a parent’s lived faith.
In recognition of this, we ask that all parents attend one parent session as part of the youth program. This session will take place during the first meeting of your child’s selected option. All parent sessions will be led by Mr. John Beeman.
