Home Grown Junior Form 2025

Home Grown Jr. is a non-juried exhibit that showcases the talent of local artists under the age of 18 years old. If you would like to participate in this show, all you must do is follow the guidelines listed below. The Cain Center for the Arts looks forward to celebrating creativity with you!

     Important Details: 

    Submission Deadline: February 22nd, 2026

    Artists will be notified of their acceptance by February 27th, 2026

     

    Submissions need to be dropped off at Cain Center for the Arts

    Address: 21348 Catawba Ave, Cornelius N.C 28031

    Artwork Drop Off: March 2nd, 2026 - March 6th, 2026 from 10AM - 4AM

     

    Exhibition Dates: March 17th, 2026 - May 9th, 2026

    Reception: April 16th, 2026 from 6:30pm - 8:30pm

    Artwork pickup: dates will be sent at the end of the exhibit via email to all particpating artists who have NOT sold

     

    Artist Guidelines for Home Grown and Home Grown Jr.

    • Artists ages 18 and up may submit TWO piece of art labeled with their name, title of artwork, and price (is for sale). There is no guarantee that we accept either piece.
    • HOMEGROWN JR. ages are 10 – 17 years old. Artists may only submit up to one piece of artwork for the exhibit. Please label work with name, title of artwork and price (if for sale).

    Below guidelines apply to Home Grown and Home Grown Jr. Submissions

    • Work must be family-friendly and created after January 2023
    • Neither submitted nor shown previously in Home Grown or any other exhibition at the Cornelius Arts Center
    • Must be a work of visual art — i.e., painting, sculpture, ceramic, photograph, weaving, textile, print, drawing, mixed media; at this time, Home Grown cannot accommodate the literary or performing arts
    • 2-D work MAY NOT EXCEED 24”x36” and 3-D work MAY NOT EXCEED 20”x24”
    • All art MUST COME “GALLERY READY”- meaning wired on the back, able to hang professionally/level given the framing or hardware included on back or able to sit neatly on a pedestal
    • All work must be submitted online by 11:59pm on Friday February 22nd – NO EXCEPTIONS
    • The value of artwork may NOT exceed $2000 for this exhibition due to the high volume of work we receive.
    • Artists receive 60% of the proceeds from sales, Cain receives 40% of the proceeds
    • Artists will sign their contracts at the time of drop off.Artists must sign their own contracts, if you will not be present during the time of the drop off, we can email you the contract in advance.
    • Due to the popularity of this annual show and limited gallery space, we will accept submissions on a first-come, first-served basis.
    • Please make sure to title all work with the following, underneath or behind all artworks,
      • Title
      • Artist name
      • Price (If not for sale, use NFS)
