  • Important Scholarship Information

    • Applicants must have a cumulative 3.0 grade point average in order to apply.
    • Applicants must be a current participant or member of the Minnesota PGA Junior Golf Program or have been a participant or member in a previous year.
    • Along with each application, the applicant must submit a copy of his/her current transcript with current grades and cumulative G.P.A.
    • Family income category must be selected for the application to be considered.
    • Scholarship winners will be notified by late April if they have received a scholarship.

  • I. Purpose

  • The purpose of the Minnesota PGA Junior Golf Scholarship Program is to encourage and promote the attainment of higher educational goals for junior golfers who have demonstrated a high level of academic achievement and extra-curricular activities during his/her high school career.

  • II. Eligibility

  • Applicants for the 2026 Minnesota PGA Junior Golf Scholarship Program must be a current participant or member of the Minnesota PGA Junior Golf Program or have been a participant or member in a previous year. 

    Applicants must have completed (or plan to complete) high school prior to September 1st, 2026 and must be planning to enroll as a full time college student.  A full time student is defined as one who is taking 12 or more hours in a course of study leading to a traditional associate (2 year) or baccalaureate (4 year) degree at an accredited college or university located within the United States or considered a full-time student by his/her respective institution.

    The Minnesota PGA Junior Golf Committee will review class ranking, grade point average (GPA) and either ACT or SAT test scores, Minnesota PGA Junior Golf past participation, along with the student’s extracurricular activities.  The student should be enrolled in a college-bound curriculum.  Distinguished honors should be noted.

    The applicant’s cumulative grade point average (GPA) MUST BE at least 3.0 on a 4.0 graduating scale or the student WILL NOT be considered eligible for the scholarship program.

  • III. Scholarship(s)

  • The 'Sota Series and 3M Open Fund Scholarship is designed to award scholarships.  The amount of each scholarship is determined by the availability of funds.

    The scholarships are supported by the 3M Open Fund and PGA of America REACH Foundation Minnesota.

  • IV. Selection of Winners

  • Scholarship recipients will be selected on the following criteria basis by using a combination of criteria:

    1. High School Grades

    2. Class Rank (if applicable)

    3. ACT/SAT Scores (if applicable)

    4. Extracurricular Activities

    5. One-Page Essay

    6. Family Income

    Extracurricular activities will help the Minnesota PGA Junior Golf Committee further evaluate the candidate’s interests and abilities.  Contributions to the community may be demonstrated by involvement in local clubs and organizations or associations. Extracurricular activities should be documented by type and years involved.

  • V. Transcript Information

  • You must submit an official copy of your high school transcript.  This transcript must include:

    1.  Your cumulative high school grade point average

    2.  Class rank (if applicable)

    The application must be submitted by Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 11:59 PM CST. The information supplied must be accurate and will be kept strictly confidential by the Minnesota PGA.
