  • The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. (NCBW100) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for Black women and girls. The organization promotes leadership development and gender equity in the areas of health, education, and economic empowerment.

    Chicago Metropolitan Chapter Chartered on September 20, 2020, the Chicago Metropolitan Chapter is based in Chicago and serves the city’s broad metropolitan community. The chapter is committed to uplifting and supporting the academic success of Black girls.

    The NCBW100 Chicago Metropolitan Chapter Scholarship supports Black girls in achieving their educational goals by promoting persistence and improving affordability. The scholarship is designed to help reduce financial barriers, encourage continued enrollment, and support recipients as they progress toward academic success. Scholarships are awarded to applicants who identify as Black or African American.

  • Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicants must meet the following criteria:

    • Identify as a female who is African American and/or identifies as Black
    • Be a graduating high school senior
    • Be a permanent resident of Chicago or the surrounding suburbs
    • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50

     

    Required Application Materials :

    • A written essay
    • Two (2) letters of recommendation
    • An unofficial high school transcript
    • Proof of college acceptance (college acceptance letter)

    Provide a list of your extracurricular activities (school, church, community, volunteer, etc.) and/or work history within the last two years.  Include a brief description of each activity and dates of involvement within the last two years.
