    Welcome to Sew-Cool camp, where creativity, fashion, and hands-on science come together! Designed for curious makers and budding designers, this immersive camp blends sewing skills with playful STEM exploration in a fun, supportive studio environment.

    Campers will learn the fundamentals of hand sewing and machine sewing while creating exciting, usable projects like bags, accessories, plushies, and wearable designs. Along the way, they’ll explore the science behind textiles, dyes, beauty products, and everyday materials—discovering how fashion and function come to life.

    Each week features a unique theme—from sewing basics and fashion design to accessories and self-care—allowing campers to build skills, confidence, and creativity as they design, test, and make.

    This camp is perfect for kids who love to **create, experiment, and express themselves** through both art and science.

  • WEEK 1 Sewing Boot Camp: Basics of Machine Sewing!

    Dates: July 6th - 10th

    Kickstart your sewing journey in this hands-on Sewing Boot Camp! Campers will learn the fundamentals of hand sewing and machine sewing, basic troubleshooting, and how to read simple patterns to bring creative ideas to life.

    Throughout the week, campers will complete a variety of beginner-friendly projects while building confidence and core sewing skills.

    **Projects may include:**

    - Pillows
    - Wallets
    - Drawstring bags
    - A simple fashion clothing item

    **Great for:** beginners or campers looking to strengthen foundational sewing skills.

  • WEEK 2 Sewing Fashion Lab!

    Dates: July 13th - 17th

    This week is all about fashion, creativity, and self-expression! Campers will explore sewing basics, patternmaking, and design as they create two unique fashion projects.

    The week wraps up with a mini fashion showcase celebrating each camper’s one-of-a-kind creations.

    **Activities include:**

    - Sewing custom items like tote bags and headbands
    - Experimenting with fabric patterns and textures
    - Incorporating upcycled materials

    **Perfect for:** aspiring designers who love fashion and creative expression.

  • WEEK 3 Accessorize It! Sewing Design Lab!

    Dates: July 20th - 24th

    **Shoes, Bags & Totally Wearable Creations**

    Step into the world of fashion design! In **Accessize It!**, campers become real accessory designers—planning, sewing, and customizing stylish pieces they can actually wear and use every day.

    From stitching their own espadrille-style shoes to designing bags and purses, campers will learn practical sewing techniques while expressing their personal style. This week is all about creativity, confidence, and making something amazing from start to finish.

    **Projects include:**

    - Designing and sewing espadrille-style shoes
    - Creating custom backpacks, purses, or bags
    - Personalizing accessories with fabrics, trims, and details

    **Please note: This week includes an additional materials fee for the shoe and accessory kit. Families will be asked to provide shoe size information. $35 materials kit fee**

  • WEEK 4 Back-to-School Fashion & Spa Science Lab!

    Dates: July 27th - 31st

    **Stitch, sparkle, and reset for the school year!**

    Wrap up summer with the ultimate creative reset! In this feel-good camp week, campers mix **fashion, DIY spa fun, and hands-on science** as they sew school-ready accessories and create their own self-care treats.

    From stitching cozy accessories to mixing bath bombs and beauty products, campers will explore creativity, confidence, and a little bit of science—all while relaxing, laughing, and getting ready to head back to school feeling proud and refreshed.

    **Activities include:**

    - Sewing fun accessories like eye masks, lunch bags, and scented neck wraps
    - Making bath bombs, body scrubs, and DIY facials
    - Discovering the science behind beauty, skincare, and scent

    **Why campers love it:**

    - Take-home projects they’ll actually use
    - A cozy, creative end-of-summer vibe
    - The perfect mix of making, science, and self-care

  • CAMP TERMS, POLICIES, AND EXPECTATIONS

    Cancellation Policy

    ALL BOOKINGS ARE NON REFUNDABLE
    If you need to cancel, we are happy to:

    • Transfer your child into another available camp or class.
    • Issue a Maker Studio gift card equal to your payment, which can be used for future camps or classes.

    Sick Days

    • If your child is unable to attend due to illness, please notify us by email as soon as possible (ideally before camp begins that day).
    • This allows staff and teachers to adjust plans and be aware of your child’s absence.

    Camp Age & Readiness Expectations

    To ensure a safe and positive camp experience for all:

    • Campers must be potty-trained and able to use the restroom independently.
    • Campers should be able to use basic tools (scissors, markers, etc.) safely and appropriately with supervision.

    Campers are expected to demonstrate age-appropriate maturity, including:

    • Following teacher instructions.
    • Respecting fellow campers and staff.
    • Engaging in group activities in a safe and cooperative manner.

    For the safety of all, we reserve the right to remove a camper from camp if:

    • They pose a consistent safety risk to themselves or others.
    • They are unable to meet the basic maturity or safety expectations even after support and redirection.

    Support & Inclusion

    • Maker Studio Kidz welcomes all children and does not discriminate on the basis of ability, neurodiversity, or special needs.
    • We strive to be as inclusive as possible within the limits of our staff training and resources.
    • Families are encouraged to share any background information, tools, or strategies that may help staff support their child’s success in camp.
    • Please note: because we are a private independent program, accommodations are limited to what we can reasonably provide with our staffing structure.

    Behavior & Warning System

    We believe in supporting children through redirection, reminders, and positive reinforcement.


    If a camper repeatedly struggles to meet safety or behavior expectations, the following steps may be taken:

    1. Verbal Reminder/Redirection – staff will remind the camper of expectations and guide them back to safe participation.
    2. Parent Communication – staff will inform parents if concerns continue.
    3. Removal from Camp – if safety or disruption issues persist, Maker Studio reserves the right to withdraw the camper from the program.
  • Informed Consent and Acknowledgement

    I hereby give my approval for my child’s participation in any and all activities prepared by Maker Studio Kidz during the selected camp. In exchange for the acceptance of said child’s candidacy by Maker Studio Kidz, I assume all risk and hazards incidental to the conduct of the activities, and release, absolve and hold harmless Maker Studio Kidz. and all its respective teachers, staff, and representatives from any and all liability for injuries to said child arising out of traveling to, participating in, or returning from selected camp sessions.

    In case of injury to said child, I hereby waive all claims against Maker Studio Kidz. including all staff and teachers, all participants, sponsoring agencies, advertisers, and, if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event. There is a risk of being injured that is inherent in all camp activities. Some of these injuries include, but are not limited to, the risk of fractures, paralysis, or death.

  • Medical Release and Authorization

    As Parent and/or Guardian of the named Maker, I hereby authorize the diagnosis and treatment by a qualified and licensed medical professional, of the minor child, in the event of a medical emergency, which in the opinion of the attending medical professional, requires immediate attention to prevent further endangerment of the minor’s life, physical disfigurement, physical impairment, or other undue pain, suffering or discomfort, if delayed.

    Permission is hereby granted to the attending physician to proceed with any medical or minor surgical treatment, x-ray examination and immunizations for the named Maker. In the event of an emergency arising out of serious illness, the need for major surgery, or significant accidental injury, I understand that every attempt will be made by the attending teacher to contact me in the most expeditious way possible. This authorization is granted only after a reasonable effort has been made to reach me.

    Permission is also granted to Maker Studio Kidz. and its affiliates including Staff and Teachers, to provide the needed emergency treatment prior to the child’s admission to the medical facility.

    Release authorized on the dates and/or duration of the registered time frame.

    This release is authorized and executed of my own free will, with the sole purpose of authorizing medical treatment under emergency circumstances, for the protection of life and limb of the named minor child, in my absence.

  • Photo Release Acknowledgement

    I hereby grant Maker Studio Kidz the absolute and irrevocable right and unrestricted permission to publish, distribute, exhibit or otherwise use the photographs Maker Studio Kidz has taken or may have taken of my child.

    I hereby release the Maker Studio Kidz photographer from all claims, demands and liabilities whatsoever in connection with the photographs.

    I understand that the images may be modified in any manner, and I hereby waive any right to inspect or approve any final product that uses the photographs.

    I acknowledge that the images may be used, without limitations, in print publications, online publications, websites and on social media.

    I waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising from or related to the use of the photographs taken of my child.

    BY ACKNOWLEDGING AND SIGNING BELOW, I AM DELIVERING AN ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE THAT WILL HAVE THE SAME EFFECT AS AN ORIGINAL MANUAL PAPER SIGNATURE. THE ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE WILL BE EQUALLY AS BINDING AS AN ORIGINAL MANUAL PAPER SIGNATURE.
