You can nominate a team of up to four convenors; at least one of them must be an early or mid-career researcher (fewer than fifteen years beyond completion of their PhD). PhD candidates may participate in the workshop but are not eligible to apply as primary convenors.
At least one of the applicants must be employed by a university or research organisation in a social science discipline on a permanent or fixed-term contract.
If successful in obtaining a Workshops Program grant, convenors must take responsibility for all aspects related to the management of the grant, including:

- planning and delivering the workshop
- providing the Academy with at least one image of the event, for media promotion
- appropriate recognition of the Academy and the Embassy of France in Australia as a supporter in all workshop-related materials and outputs (e.g. publications)
- preparing and delivering the workshop outputs listed in the original proposal
- providing the Academy with an open-access publication summarising the findings from the workshop, for promotion on the Academy's website
- completing a post-workshop budget acquittal, feedback and evaluation form.
